This is true. Until a real car can be tested nobody has any business saying how great it is. Nothing more than conjecture. As much as GM wants us to believe the C7 is better in every way than a C6 it may actually be deficient in a few ways.
It's certainly more modern but electronics + high power doesn't seem right to me
Well the manufacture can make claims because they have tested the car.
And this forum can contest those claims which makes for great reading and a lot of insight.

I've been reading sooo much on the C7 lately and trying to feel the vibe for it that when I look at the C6 next to the C7 I suddenly feel more of a vibe for the C6. IMO the C6 looks faster, and like it's ready for war. The C6 looks fresh and stoudt, wheras the C7 looks looong and laid back, kinda like the obsolete C5. In all seriousness though if the C7 body had come before the C6 body we would all be saying the same stuff, just in reverse. I haven't sat in the C7 yet and I'm sure the upgraded displays look great, but unfortunately just as in the C6 they too will be outdated and old school in probably no more than about two years. That's the problem with tech. It gets old real real fast.
Bottom line is Tadge is going to say what he needs to say to sell cars. He's a high paid saleman, whom I'm sure get's a really nice "commision" too. Next year he'll be spouting off about all of the great improvements in the 15 model that will in some ways make the 14 obsolete as well. And so it goes...

C7 looks like someone tried to change C6 too hard, without having any idea what to do.
Seeing as how he thinks a GS will be as fast or faster, I'd say he's probably not OK.
Oh I am fne, pretty interesting to see the thoughts I tossed around being recycled over and over, the same thoughts that got me lynched around here. Let us just hope I will not be the one who has the last laugh, that would suck, wouldn't it?

Thanks for the terrific compare shots of these stunning cars. Ever since the C7 was "Revealed" I have wanted to see such a shot. There is no doubt that the ZR1 will go down as one of the great American cars of all time. Having driven one for three days at the Bondurant School out in Chandler, AZ I feel very privileged indeed.
I do feel that the C7 acquits itself very nicely with the much higher priced ZR1 here. It is nice to see the torch being passed gracefully here from one generation to another. I was at Sebring when Tadge made his now infamous "Obsolete" comment and while it is no doubt true that he has a built in reason to "hype" the Stingray I must say that seeing him in person, getting to speak one on one with him at the Corvette Corral, and knowing that he will be held accountable for whatever he says when the "numbers" come out, I just got the feeling that he is doing more than a "sell" job on the C7. I get the feeling that he truly believes the C7 will be a giant step forward for Corvette and not just an "evolution". Could I be wrong? For certain and for sure BUT time will tell when the car is subjected to the type of scrutiny it most certainly will face. And this is a good thing.

Please help me to understand why you want to have the "last laugh"? Don't you want to see the C7 succeed?

C7 looks like a sheep to the zr1s wolf in my opinion.

When the C7 was first introduced, Mr W and others made a big fuss over the name Stingray. How he would not permit the use of the name until he felt the C7 was worthy of being called a Stingray. I've listened to his pitch and those of others. I couldn't understand what made the C7 worthy of being called a Stingray. Seeing these two pictures makes me even more doubtful that the change in styling to the C7 makes it worthy of the name Stingray. Like the C7 or not, the biggest impact the styling has had is to start arguments over the tail lights. Please note I'm not saying that the C7 is not an "improvement" from an engineering point of view. Further, the interior is definately up scale from a quality point of view. I can even make a case for the engine and aero changes. But I can't make a case for the C7 styling having the kind of impact that the original Stingray had when it was announced.
