I was looking at getting a C6z before my current C5 came along a year and a half ago. Then I was thinking about picking one up to go along with my FRC. After seeing the C7 though, I may never end up with a C6z now.
Lets not forget all the nice folks that purchased ZR-1s at $125K a pop this year. So what is he saying here, Sorry you fools you now own an old out dated piece of junk. The base C7 is better??? He should learn to keep is pie hole shut.
Maybe not a piece of junk...for sure outdated. I never liked the C6 and the used C6 prices confirm same.
GM's mandate is to sell new product.
I am still out on the C7, I will have to see one and drive one before I decide if I like it. So far it looks a little too CTS/Camero ish for me.

Well I saw one up close at the bash. Pictures don't do it justice. Remarkable in my opinion (and we all have our views on it). As far as where does this stand up against say a $125,000 ZR1....well shoot I really thing again that it all comes down to what a person wants out of a car. On paper going head to head bang for the buck...The C7 hands down has the upper hand. But hey that's just evolution period. Sure a lot of people who bought ZR1's who paid over $100,000 just to have the "latest and greatest" are going to feel hurt but if that's the only reason you bought one then Iam sure those people will be selling it off soon and going with the next big thing to come along. In this case yes a C7 Sting Ray or perhaps in a year or two the Sting Ray XXX? (you fill in the blanks...the next performance model to take over the Z06 or ZR1). Point is...putting the C6 in the obsolete category just happens here. Just the same the C5 was placed here when the C6 came out. It's called technology and evolution of a car. It happens. Either got to live with it...or upgrade if you feel the advancements are up your alley.
Oh and....those people who purchased a ZR1 this year or even last year knew when the C7 was coming out. Nobody pushed them into buying a ZR1. Maybe they just like the ZR1 better? There is enough room on the block for both cars. Tadge is only saying how great the C7 is in advancements and technology. What better way to do that then to compare it to GM's top of the line performance model right now.

No he is saying that a C7 can't touch a C6 Z06. I don't think anyone will dispute that.
There is no dispute until they test them..technology is a funny thing. The performance parameters change. It is not always about horsepower. It is about who finishes first.
Tell you what guys. Tell your wife that she is now obsolete and you are getting rid of her for a newer model. See how that works out for you.
Her lawyer will fully explain to you about how much her obsolescence is going to cost you. You might just discover that you can't afford that newer model, as much as you want it.

That's why you never buy; just lease or "rent"!
You know the old saying - "if it flies, floats, or f**ks, it's cheaper to rent than buy......".
Maybe there needs to be a 4th object in that statement! Something like "is made of fiberglass"? I know it's SMC now, but YOU try to come up with a "F" word for Corvettes...........

Equating a Corvette to a woman can only go so far.

The Corvette isn't a living, breathing, hell-raiser like women are. It won't go out of it's way to actively destroy your life.

guys, I saw the new C7 yesterday during ALMS Laguna Seca displayed at Chevy booth. None of the line flow well nor does it look sporty. It is not futuristic nor is it inspiring. The interior is not that much better. The protruding dash handle looked like a grayhound bus handle and totally segregated the driver from passenger compartment. The large "splitter" like triangular protrusion at the front bumper beg to be hit by a curb and it is just out of place.
I own a Z06 and I am not here to bash GM and I was planning on getting a C7 Z06 in couple years. I welcome new model and new designs just like everything else. I really like how the C7 look in photo but looking at the car in person was really disappointing.
My impression above is my honest opinion and I have no other agenda. Base C7 may appeal to many other but did not do it for me. I hope GM really work hard to make the C7 Z06 more appealing
What a shock, a C6 owner who hates everything about the C7. Even picking on the front lip cause it might catch a curb! Did you see the front of your Z06 has a little black skirt, you know, the one that gets trashed on almost every C6 widebody....do you hate that too or give it a pass, do you like your cobalt steering wheel and give that a pass, do you have Atari 2600 grade nav graphics and give that a pass, do you give the flimsy seats a pass too?
Just stupid to hear the nitpicking when the C7 has clear advancements and upgrades over the C6.

The C7 Z51 is heavier than the C6 Z06 and has less horsepower. Look up the specifications. What is it you don't understand ?

We can only hope the "Z" version does not look like this!
