It's so interesting as I look at the photos of this c7 (and I don't love blue) and I love this new c7 z51... I've own a c6 and this c7 screams exotic corvette to me...
The C7 Z51 is heavier than the C6 Z06 and has less horsepower. Look up the specifications. What is it you don't understand ?
Real life I guess. I was never any good at specification racing. Or for that matter any racing other then the real thing. I have seen, been there, when cars that should have won did not. So you have theory on your side,

First off your comparing a C7 Z51 to a C6 Z06? Apples to Oranges there.
2nd...where are you getting your data from? To the best of my knowledge no official release from GM on the HP has been disclosed. Speculation is around 450hp. Z06 has 505. Not exactly far off. When you add this to the fact that the C7 has many technological advancements over the Z to harness and use its HP more efficiently (such as planting the HP down better, better transmission and Gearbox ratios) well it's anybody's guess. Bottom line is it will definitely give a C6Z a run for it's money and when the new "performance model" comes out in a year or two. That will be the model that should be comparable (or replaceable) to the Z06.
just my 02.

Starting to see the "selling C6 to make room for C7" ads popping up on craigslist. Guess not all C6 owners are stuck up about the new model as i thought.

Yes the c7 is down on power and up on weight against the c6z06. However, the c7 has better tires, suspension, and aerodynamics on it's side. I have no doubt the z06 is faster in a straight line, but the c7 will give it a run for it's money on a road course.

Well since you are all knowing (they are buying C7s ??) what are the exact hp and tq numbers on the C7 ?
What a shock, a C6 owner who hates everything about the C7.
What a ridiculous ad hominem, because someone owns a C6 they can't be objective about the C7? In the back of my mind when I bought a 2011 GS, I always wondered, "what if the C7 is better?" I was eagerly (and nervously) awaiting the C7 to see if I liked it better and if so, I was going to seriously consider trading in my '11 C6. I put off all mods to keep the warranty honored until then.
Then the C7 was shown and I didn't like it. Still don't. Perhaps it will grow on me with time. But I am definitely not in love. I can look at 100+ pages of post-your-C6 pr0n on CF. I can also do this with the C3. I just can't see myself doing that with the C7.
Regarding the "obsolete" comment, it isn't about whether the C7 will have some major functional improvements over the C6 (of course it will). It's about respect for tradition and one's customers. GM and its minions were stupid to use the term "obsolete" while still selling C6's. It makes loyal customers not trust them. Just a dumb and unnecessary thing to say.
Respect? Those who worry so much about the lack of respect from the HEAD OF THE CORVETTE TEAM ARE BLOWING TADGES STATEMENT OUT OF CONTEXT TO THE MILLIONTH DEGREE..
If a c6 owner doesn't care for the c7 that's fine...yet please realize there are trolls here as well pretending to be corvette enthusiasts and then go on and on about how the new c7 is terrible..
From what I can see..the c7 is a nice evolution of the c6 which I own...
I believe the technical improvements in certain areas are what was being discussed when the gentleman used the term "makes the c6 obsolete"
Let's consider RESPECTING THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO WORK ON CORVETTE AND THE PROBABILITY THEY WERE THANKFULLY CAUGHT UP IN THE EXCITMENT OF THE IMPROVEMENTS.....NOTHING MORE...
Unless people prefer to act insulted...then just ignore and accept my apology for stating my opinion..
