That's vague. What z06 time? What year what trim? What tire? See pretty easy to make bold ambiguous claims with no details. Its all talk, if that was really true the video would be up and GM would be bragging.
He is just repeating what he heard from his high school buddies...trying to fit in!
All good questions...soon to be answered..........
Doubtful. Does Tadge ever answer when he's proven full of it? No. But atleast we know even at the most optimistic scale tipping test the c7 still can't match any z06 of any trim or year.

I'm pretty confident that the first year C7 Z51 will equal or better a first year C6 Z06 on Road Atlanta with the same driver. If not, it will be damn close. Someone call Tommy Milner!

A lot of it will have to do with the Z06s crappy Goodyears, but

Why is this such a hot button issue for you? You bought the heaviest of all Z06's! The 2006 Z06 was the lightest.....yet slowest on track of all years....your heavier Z06 made improvements in suspension grip and brakes only yet substantially improved lap times vs the lighter 2006.
Why are you so focused on the C7 weight if it does come in around what a C6 is? Corvette engineers have proven despite a weight increase they can make the same car faster.
With a new gen and better tech, the C7 will have no trouble dusting the early C6.

I'm just correcting fallacies over here. Its funny to see all you dreamers thinking the base c7 or z51 c7 will have some magic sauce that ads up to more than its weight and power. My heavier z06 will have no problem dusting a c7 so I'm not worried about that. I'm here for the laughs and am also interested in pricing too.

These guys are not thinking clear! A C7 dusting a Z06....funny!

You've driven both your Z06 and the new C7? Already?

I wonder what a C7 with ZR1 12"inchers would do to a ZO6.
The pony gap if it really is something that could easily be overcome thanks to stuff like the E diff, and the new chassis, especially if the 475 number turns out to be the case. Tire width, that remains to be seen.

Can I have your autograph?
You don't have to drive something to know less power + more weight + skinnier street tire = slower. Thats essentially what my last post was about, dreamers lol.
From that a reasonable person could infer that a new Z51 should beat the older editions of the Z06 ( as originally setup ) around VIR but newer Z07 flavor would prob win out.

Right but that's just a difference mostly of tire compound. How many 2006/2007 z06's still sport factory rubber? I'm betting not many.
A Z51 level C7 will not likely "dust" a C6 Z06 and vice versa. It will probably be very close and could even be a drivers race. The C7 is and will to a greater degree exert significant, downward pressure on the cash value of any C6. This is undeniable and the reason for much of the hate towards the C7. It is very easy for anyone with half a brain to see this. This small legion of C7 critics has become nothing more than some good internet entertainment. We all know why they are saying what they say in their rants.
Ya gotta love some of the posts like, "No way a C7 performs anywhere near my Z06"! These profoundly idiotic statements seem never ending even when GM and some of the auto press have clearly stated that the performance stats are very close. These guys have never driven a C7 but seem confident in providing all the answers for us well in advance of any factory stats or independent evaluations. Laughable to say the least. I hope they keep it up though as it does make for some most entertaining chatter as long as the haters don't mind making fools of themselves.
BTW, where is petermj, did he run out gas or is he just taking a break?
I have no problem parting with my GS "IF" the C7 has better than C6 Z06 performance. I put a healthy down payment on the GS so I am not worried about the value....all cars are worthless when they leave the dealer!
Drmustang, I think you are bitter, maybe could not afford a GS or Z06 so you have to throw C6 values in everyones face. You have a C7 Fanboism about you, can you afford one or even buy one?

A drivers race is once again wishful thinking. The c6z06 driver would have to make sizeable errors for the c7 to have a chance.
Statements like these aren't idiotic when Tadge is being less than honest about times and giving the new car a tire advantage that isn't reality in 2013. Comparing a 2006 time to a 2013 time is misleading at best. A currently shod z06 would indeed dust a c7 which is why proof to back up words is in short supply from GM.
