That is my price range..No more..So with that said, how long will it take for a used one to hit 42-45k? I am hoping by the end of summer in 2014 but is that wishful thinking? Base model will be fine with me so that doesn't bother me one bit since I will be putting my own extras on it
I was originally apprehensive about me getting one, thinking MSRP would be over 55k..but now that its under 52k it got me back to being excited

No one knows how popular the C7 will be or the initial demand for the car.
But, I'm guessing it will be at least 24 months before used C7's will show up selling for $7-10K below MSRP. 24 months from now, new C7's will likely be selling for $3-4K off MSRP(IMO).

I'm assuming that you are talking about a $52,000 MSRP 2014 selling used for $42-45K, not a $65K car.

Market demand, or course will be main factor. If GM holds productions, closer to sales, there still may be a higher demand.

I think it would possible to pick up a used base within a year or so for 45ish. Like any car when you drive it off the lot it drops 8-10k in this price range of autos...imo!

1LT Base will be in the $42k - $45k as soon as it becomes used.
Dealers will go a couple grand below MSRP a few months after launch so you are talking about a $5k difference in price.
Most people will pay $3-4k more for a brand new one, so a used one will have to be below that threshold.

It's going to be nearly impossible to find a C7 that sold for the $52K base price. Nearly all of them will at least have a few options..
Just look at used 2012-2013 models. Dealerships are asking $45K for them. And they are not the newest thing on the streets like the C7 is.
I'd say after they've been out for 6 months or so, they will be selling used ones for $48K

Doubtful....

New 2013's were being sold for $38K or $35k with owner loyalty.
Also, 54% of base coupes and 52% of base convertibles in 2013 were 1LT. There are plenty of people that will buy the base 1LT model. It is the most practical way to get in to a vette.
Dealers can ask whatever they want, asking price != selling price.

The moment one drives their new C7 off the lot the value of the car drops 10% from MSRP. Just like any other mass produced new car.

Late fall 2014. After the 2015 models start being ordered, some 12 month leases are up, dealers start selling their demo's, people get sick of the ergonomics of a sports car, back problems, hip, knee problems, divorce, death, birth, pregnancy, unemployment, marriage, kids, college tuition, dental work, breast augmentation, retirement, insanity, sanity, and anything else I forgot that will cause some people to sell.
