1000 scuff with wet dry paper
alcohol or acetone wipe
this primer - I'm sure many will work - I got this at auto parts store
2 coats base
3 coats clear
practice on something first to see how it sprays - go to you tube to see how people paint car parts with rattle cans, it's easy once you get the hang of it, keep it moving, many dusting coats are better than wet coats that can run...
got these for xmas,
If you have never modded before, this should be your first, as it is soooo easy - took all of 3 min per flap. The car is designed for this changeout. Under the car is one 7MM bolt that unscrews...then use your fingernails to get behind the top or bottom of the flap and pull gently...Look at how it's coming off, and put the new one on the same way...and I see many say, "why did they not put these on at the factory?" - simple - they want to sell accessories! Forget all the part numbers - email Patrick with 4 words : "Price me c7 mudgards"

I might rip it off for some larger cleartastic pieces soon. If so, I'm sure it will come clean just like any of the logos - meaning goo gone, a bit of heat and patient and gentle pulling....clean it all up with acetone or alcohol...then using rinseless as a lube. I will clay using a speedy prep towel and then apply the cleartastic...
hi glen,
just checking to see if you are going to undertake the re-do on the facvtory clear applications.
you instructions sound good, but i'd like you to ''go first''.
accolades to all you've done to improve the car and keep us all informed. although it still bothers me that the florida tag isn't centered in the bracket. tallahassee needs to do a mod on the tag.
This is RPIdesigns.com vinyl strips that black out the red markers in the back. - They go in in 5 min with soapy water...congrats to Don for getting the dimensions PERFECT. BTW, they still "reflect" at night.
And I'm waiting for a little warmer weather so I can get my windows tinted and put my stinger on. Wish I lived in Florida right now!
Funny you should mention that...the stinger is one of my failed mods...took the paper off the back was ready to spread it, and the wind caught it, and 10 secs later, hundreds of dollars of stripe was stuck to itself and ruined...hint; use two people, inside or dead calm day is what you need...When I got the replacement I went to a mod shop and paid $50 to have it done....

Oh, man! Sounds like something that would have happened to me! I would have been pretty frustrated at that point! And knowing that I usually have to do things twice when it comes to things like this, I decided to have someone else put it on for me.
I'm interested when you say you like the stock look? You can see raw unfinished mufflers without the plate on my car...yecch........ My initial plan was to remove bumper and just flat black the muffs as I have done with other cars, where they can be seen. I thought the black out plate was a bit more elegant way to do it and less than $100.
I should start another thread on "failed mods" as I've got a bunch of them too!
You always have a pretty humorous way of discussing your failed mods (the red floor mats comment) ...I'd love to hear more of those stores for the comedic factor!

Likewise...I have the paint Glen recommended and it's so cold here I'm afraid to mess with it. I think FL is definitely in my retirement future. With regard to the stinger, I've decided to have it painted on when I have the roof painted carbon flash. When the dang snow melts away Ill take the car into the shop and get it all done at once.
Spoilers like that reduce drag a little and reduce lift a little but they are fairly large. One thing about them is that there is very little risk of getting it wrong.
Wow, since the rear-end comes off so easily I would look for an aftermarket rear-end style
