so I did a test spot and it was hard enuf to polish...so 1000/3000 grit/med polish+ finishing polish, and it's like a grand piano now (except carbon flash)

Do you by any chance have any shots of the actual console behind that bezel with it removed? Kind of a side issue I know

There really is not anything under there, just three harness for drive mode, brake and cig lighter socket. The whole piece comes out with leaving the bezel and shift boot in place. Super simple.

I'm curious about the space immediately behind and above where the plaque is. As in if there is any and if so, what's it look like

I'd like to know also as I am having a radar detector installed and wanted to put the display to the right of the plaque.

Never be afraid to get this piece off its easy- almost just with your hands
1. Block the car , put in neutral, engine off
2. Pull off driver side leather piece on side of console, all snaps that go back
3. Tske off console cover- 3 simple torn bolts
4. With your hands, or tools pull up the whole console at the back , it'll pop
5. Reach under shifter and pop whole shifter bezel, up and out
6. Maneuver shift bezel thru console
7.disconnect cig lighter, driver mode, brake

Lift off......

And yes boys... Did not pull the girl card on the detail. Followed Glen's instructions and used the nano sponge to "clay" the polish and sealed. Thank you Glen. I will say I teach Zumba 4 days a week and lift weights. Ummmm....I'm sore used muscles I do not usually use.

Thanks for all the great info and how to's! One question.. What kind of paint gun are you using for your painting? Also, are you thinning the paint out at all or just spraying the way it comes out of the can?
