I agree with everyone else here....The trunk has a quite a bit of room in it. When the top is up it is even more. You can fit a couple rolling bags, or a couple large duffle bags in the back.
The days of small trunks in Corvette Convertibles ended in 1996.
factory is in Ky....there are no production cars yet...
Thank you Adam.
BTW, I've been at the plant 4 times so I know where it's located. If you check test cars, you will see they are running Michigan manufactures plates, not dealer's plates. I do not believe that the states allow people other than dealers located in their respective state to run dealer's plates on their cars.
That's why I asked Adam what the deal is. Maybe it's possible that the Museum is able to run dealer's plates, but I don't know, since they do have to drive the cars on public roads. That's why I asked Adam, as he works for the museum, and is more in a position to know than you.
While I really like the C7 vert, I have no intention of getting one. It is C7 Coupe all the way for me this time around! Frankly, as the present owner of a C6 convertible, I have no great desire to get a C7 convertible because they don't look different enough to bother and the C7 coupe is just friggen awesome looking to me!
In convertible form, it looks like a natural evolution of the C6, especially the profile view. The C7 is the first BASE corvette I have ever preferred in coupe form.
Kentucky does not have Manufacturers plates , the Bowling Green Assembly Plant has to use Dealer plates.
Look at the photo below your post. Notice that those C7's have Michigan manufacturer's plates yet were built in Kentucky.
or this photo of a C7 built in Kentucky.
Maybe it's possible that since GM is headquartered in Michigan and all those C7's running around are owned by GM, even though they are built in Kentucky, they run the plates from the state where the company is headquartered.
Once GM sells the car to a dealer, then that dealer is required to run dealer's plates in the state where that dealer is located.
PERFECTION.
That red convertible with the black roof really brings the new C7 design into focus. Especially that 3/4 rear view now that the AMC Marlin rear window treatment is gone.....
Now lets see the convertible next; in Laguna Blue with a black top.
I forgot to mention that YES that red vert is beautiful, thanks Adam
Concerning the plates, I'll repeat that Kentucky does not have manufacturer plates and that the plant does indeed use KY dealer plates. I'm sure many of us who have spent time around Bowling Green notice both KY dealer plates and MI manufacturer plates on the Corvettes we see driving around. Sometimes it seems like they are used interchangeably, but basically plant personnel use KY dealer plates while cars that will be based in Michigan use the MI manufacturer plate.

Does anyone know if you can get a red convertible roof. Red on red with the red roof, some long tube headers, intake , tune and rims would make even the Italian and German cars step aside.
Trading in my 2006 red Z-06 10,000 mile ,with 19 and 20 inch CCW rims possible tomorrow (Canadian)dealer.

Reason: wrong spelling.
I agree in that I think the hardtop is a really sensational, new design whereas the vert is less edgy and more evolutionary; the profile of the vert's rear deck is very much like predecessors because there isn't that much you can do with it.
I'm torn because I love the look of the coupe, but I want the top down ease of the vert. I have the coupe now and although it is not difficult to stow and replace the roof, it is a decision never undertaken lightly or for a short hop. Having a vert would, for me, mean more top-free driving due to convenience.
My other concern is I want Z51 with MRC but I am not taken with the Z51 spoiler on the vert. I'm really going to need to see several in person before I order.
I'm with you. Tough decision. Coupe looks, or top down driving. Also, in agreement on the spoiler. Would like Z51 but w/o spoiler.

No you can't. Top choices are grey, blue, black and tan.
