I think most people do not understand transmissions and think more is better. Obviously the new Corvette has seven speeds in its standard transmission. Does anyone think it makes for a faster car? As for A6 being obsolete they still successfully drag race with powerglides for goodness sake. If you ran two Corvettes, one with an A6 and one with an A7 or A8 I think you will find miniscule differences in performance. If you consider how broad the torque band is with an LT. As for changes. I was always a big C5 fan. I think most of us would be hard pressed to know the differences from 15 feet away from a 1997 to 2004, other then wheels. There may be no need to make any changes but color. When sales decline they may look to the physical. The ZO 6 or whatever they call it will be a different model , of course.

I think body-color vents and bumper option would prove to be very popular.. hopefully they will do that.
I still don't see the point of 7 gears on a car with this much torque. If they really, really felt the need for an EVEN TALLER top gear for EPA regs or whatever, just make 6th gear that gear.... but I guess that ship has sailed.

Well, I would think that if they made the sixth gear taller and kept it a six speed, they would have to change all the other ratios, as suddendly making a larger jump to the higher gear may be detrimental to the drive train? This would take away from the performance aspect of this car. I also believe that the seventh gear is designed to integrate with the AFM at those highway cruising speeds, making it smoother and more usable? Or perhaps since the AFM function is less active in the manual cars, the seventh gear actually replaces AFM at highway cruising speeds?
Either way, since it's a manual transmission, it will only go into seventh gear when you put it there, so, no big deal really.
BG barely got the 14's going. Give them a break.
They are probably still trying to sort out the last tweeks of the 14's let alone introducing changes.
Let them fix the issues they have NOW... instead of adding MORE issues.
The C7 is still "all new" so it can afford to wait a while before changing anything... Better to get the current offering as close to perfect as they can before offering new stuff.
The easiest thing without much part changes would be a couple new colors...
Bring BACK Atomic Orange!!!!

The base wheels are to ugly for the C7...
They look to plain looking or maybe like they should be on a base camaro or something.

Im glad they have the exterior trim in Carbon Flash. It looks good with the small metal flake in the paint. Better than just the normal "black plastic look".

Probably, a new color for the 2nd MY. Also, fixes/tweaks of first year "problems". All the focus will be on the new hi po model. I'll be waiting for the third MY. It will be a better Car. Maybe a few more ponies. In the meantime I'll soldier on with my obsolete, manual, '10 GS.
2015 is the year of the Z0x or ZR1 version. They will not give the base any bump in hp to take away attention from the hi-po version. You may likely see a bump in hp in the base in 2016/17. A new auto trans is very likely.

The 7 speed manual is more of a pain in the butt than anything else IMO. In that both 6 and 7 are overdrive gears, I would have been happier with just a 6 speed manual. I guess the 7th gear is only for mileage purposes. I wonder how many owners actually use the 7th speed on an ongoing basis.
For 2015 - my guess is a new auto transmission, a price hike ($2500 for the base and $5000 for the Z51). That should drive more buyers to the base model and set the Z51 as a true middle option between the base and the upcoming Z06/07.
Be funny if the only C7 I can find is the one an 8 speed auto if they put an 8 speed in it.
It'll literally have double the gears of my C4
Even so, I could be more than happy with an A6 if I couldn't find a manual car around here.
Well I am down on the A6 as I have had 2, the 08 had a Service Bulletin and was down for 4 days while they pulled the trans and my 11 although better is always hunting for the right gear. These need a tune to make so much better....to bad GM could not have got them right in the C6. If nothing else they need to keep up with the times...most autos are going to the 8 for whatever reason, I'm sure MPG's has something to do with it.
I really dont see much of anything coming in changes for 2015. ... , I can get into the C6 seats easy, but the C7 are very tight so I would like to see something there. And yes, I could stand to lose some weight but easier said than done. ...
GM can't get a break from some folks.
C6 requests: It needs better support in the seats.
Here's a simple and very doable one that I hope happens... new, better quality carpet. It's minor in the grand scheme of things but it's a simple fix that will really allow the greatly improved interior to shine even more.
That cheap fuzzy carpet Corvettes kept from the 1970s until 2013 looked the same as other cheap GM cars. The new 2014 loop pile carpet contributes to the C7 interior's premium look.
