You need to order from a dealer with an allocation!
Why do you think others can order and get a car in 6 or 7 weeks?
If you ordered like you said in March, with a dealer with an allocation for you, the car would be in your garage by now.
It's not an allocation issue, it's a constraint issue. They're submitting orders to GM every week but a fully optioned car like mine remains on the pile.
They've offered me a few cars that arrived for cancelled orders and stock but I'd rather wait for the car that I really want.
Your obviously an old timer It's a different world today. You may have heard with the invention of computers and internet, things move alot faster People expect faster results with everything. I'm a younger guy with limited patience
Actually, with the invention of computers and internet, the only thing moving faster is information.. Cars still take time to build, and things still happen.... I mean, really, people wait weeks to get a new smart phone from Apple, or a new X Box, so a couple of months for a car is outrageous?
BTW, the market adjustment alone on the hi-po version will be 20K if you want one right away, so you need to hope that the car is the same price, I guess...

Good luck..
agreed with most of what you are saying but shipping should never take a month. that is ridiculous and UNefficient as hell

Where did I say shipping should take a month? It usually isn't more than a few days, unless you are in Hawaii or Alaska.... They have been taking their time getting them through QC, however, which isn't technically shipping time, but is adding to the wait once it is built...
That said, most ordering a competitor have to wait at least that long for their ships to come in, literally....
Incredible that with all the constraints and first year model worries....NOBODY is turning to the competition.....says so much about this car and the design.

Actually, my dealer appears not to want to use an allocation for my constraint riddled order so my name is on a list. When the constraints come off, my order will go in!

It is no longer a Chevrolet. It is now an Allocation by GM. So if you live in some small town with a Chevy dealer that you've done business with for 30 yrs., you are just SOL if you want a C7 unless you want to buy mail order. One of the stupidest most customer alienating systems know to mankind.

It took me 'forever' to receive my '69 Corvette from my small dealer. He had an annual allocation of three cars! I enjoyed my life as I waited.
Or you can go to one of 38 Ferrari dealers, 23 Aston Martin dealers, or (woo-hoo) 189 Porsche dealers across the US! They don't operate with any customer alienating allocation system!
Gosh .......I can just imagine the waiting list for tickets when the White Sox go up against the Cubs in the world series .........

Your dealer CAN'T use an allocation for your "constraint riddled" order. That's NOT how the allocation system works. When a dealer is given an allocation, he MUST order a BUILDABLE car or LOSE the allocation.
freak'n love it!!! i'll take an x large tshirt too.
I ordered a coupe from MacMulkin/Ron and tommy placed the order with the z51 and 3lt package and the only thing i could not receive when placing the order was the clear roof, i went with the painted roof and i ordered it and was accepted within 24 hours and this was October 29th and i was just told that my car was produced November 26th and is now a code 4200 which means that it shipped. This was fast seeing that my original order was from a local dealer that could not get the order accepted after 2 months. IM HAPPY

mulmulkin is great, ron and tommy are great, gm production is great. it's the shipping that sux. you'll see.
Good move sting ya.....and with the introduction of the upgrade model just over a month away, might as well wait and see.I believe it will be less then 20 000 $
Why would you think it is less than 20k more!
That can be ruled out!

A Z51 is 53800 $, figured 73795$ starting price for the hi-po model was more then reasonable...Considering we know that there are convertibles coming and the cost of 2lt or 3lt.I don't know their marketing strategy...At this point, the car will debut in 37 days, we'll see.

Thanks for the info Jimmy! I wasn't sure if he had a choice or not!
