So i contacted my dealer today and cancelled my c7 order 
I gave a deposit over 3 months ago, and it looks like months until GM will be excepting my order. I simply dont have the patience anymore.
My plan now is to wait until the hi po version is released. Maybe all the bugs will be worked out and HOPEFULLY it wont be more than $20 gs more the the base model z51.
The sad part is that if GM was organized and prepared for demand, then i would have a torch red z51 carbon roof in my garage right now!!!

I used the search on Chevrolet.com and while it took awhile, I found treasure in Atlanta at Hendrick. The chase was fun but the catch was awesome! Torch Red manual Z-51, CF interior and roof. They are out there if you look hard enough.

I was in the same boat as you but somebody here turned me on to macmulkin. They had my color a few more option than I wanted buy i said what the heck and bought it. Have you tried looking at big dealers if they have a spec car or one that was not picked up by the orderer?

I can understand them underestimating the Z51 demand, although since they pushed it exclusively they shouldn't have been off by that much.
But the roof nonsense is just sad since they are having problems with their standard roof.

just keep looking if you want. I put my deposit on it quick when I found it. I can't believe macmulkin has taken 3 months to get your order in. they have a bunch of allocations.

I gave my deposit in early September. Tommy told me i would have my car by Dec. I have been keeping an eye out everywhere. No luck. Im disappointed in GM not Macmulkin. GM couldnt produce, couldnt come through bottom line..
you obviously had so many other things going on

On 11/1, I ordered a non-Z51 (so as not to get caught in the constraint issue) through a forum dealer for a REALLY great price - $3K below MSRP- and gave 'em a deposit (Dave Smith Motors in Idaho)
After 3 weeks with no movement (stuck at 1100), I was ready to cancel myself BUT they contacted me that very day to let me know a Z51 order was cancelled and I could have that slot if I wanted it, at the same $3K below MSRP . As I did want a Z51 initially, I grabbed the opening, upgraded my order (no other constraints as part of my order) and immediately it was at 2000 status. 1 week later (last week), is was upped to 3000. Hopefully things continue to move!
(patience does pay although admittedly I didn't wait 3 months to reach this point!)
