Anyone know where we are in the current consensus cycle? Are we between cycles or are we currently in one? Somewhere I heard it runs from Thursday thru Tuesday, every two weeks.

Based on when my order was accepted in December, the next cycle should start this Thursday (1/16/14).

That lines up with what my forum dealer told me.

Now I am sitting here at work seriously thinking about waiting a year for a Z06 though. I mean, I've been without my C6 for over 2 months now and at 1100 with my Z51.. How bad will another year be?

According to my dealer (Les Stanford), they needed my order by last Thursday (1/9) for consensus tomorrow. I guess I'll know more tomorrow and Wednesday if my order gets picked up and I move to 2000 on Wed.

We might be in a better position then we think. Reality is nothing has gone wrong, I placed the order with a spring delivery in mind. So far this time period has not been compromised.

I think the most frustrating part of this is the lack of transparency.

It's winter here in Canada so I actually don't mind waiting another couple months but the problem is I don't know if I'm waiting another couple months or a year.

When I ordered in September my dealer said they had allotment available if I ordered right away. So I did. They told me the status was "accepted at factory" whatever that means. In November I asked the status code was (after getting more informed from this forum, thanks people!) and I was told 1100.

So now it's 4 months since my order and I wonder, do I have my order placed at a dealer that has any allocation? I have no freaking clue. Did they give that allocation they said they had to someone else? I have no freaking clue. Was the order delayed because of constraints? The dealer said they were not aware of any constraints. Yet based on this forum, I had 3 options under constraint.

What is going on? Does my dealer even know?

The waiting game isn't a problem if the process is transparent and the customer is informed about what is going on. I do not feel well informed.

Synced, your situation mirrors mine exactly!

My Z51/FAY vert order was placed in early September [deposit on 03.20.2013] with a small dealer [previously ordered two C6 Vettes from him] for a confirmed allocation, I then received the following message from Chevrolet FAQ on 09.26,

"As of September 26, 2013, the status of Order Number RGXBMP is the following:
Order has been placed by your dealership and accepted by Chevrolet. The next step in the process will be the assignment of a Target Production Week (TPW.) However, at this time a TPW has not been established for this order."

Since then it sits at 1100 with no information other than the dealer tells me to ask Chev customer service for a constraint update, and customer service tells me to ask the @#%^$ dealer!

At this point I am not happy with the lack of information, and if no movement occurs by the end of January, switching my order to a larger dealer for an early 2015 model.

Synced, harry2:

It should be obvious to both of you that the problem is with your dealerships. Information on constraints, how many allocations they are going to get and where you stand in their line are all readily available to them through GM's system.

For the most part, the salesperson does not know this stuff (although our forum vendors are different). You need to talk to somebody with more knowledge. Seek out the Sales Manager or General Manager and have a nice pleasant discussion with them. If they won't tell you these things, then it is time to run, not walk, to another dealer who will be more transparent with you.

All this wishful thinking (and I'm right there with you) is contingent upon the constraints being removed....

I talked with Customer Service last Thursday. She informed me, after a considerable wait, that my order has been picked up, no other details were available. Different phraseology, does that mean accepted by GM or has the order started to move forward? That same day the tracking thread, here on the forum, told still at 1100. Anyone know how current the GM tracker site is? I will call GM Customer service later this week. I'm just going to ride it out.

customer service is worthless...they just don't seem to read the current databases - best info I got of all the avenues, is a PM to Kelly here - whatever she uses, it's spot on...

I'm just about ready to stop trying to track my order and just wait for the dealer to call when they receive the invoice. I have no doubt the dealer has allocation and that I have the convertible slot. Why stress?.

I said the same thing and actually was able to comply with that for a few weeks. Then I was back to daily checks

GM Order Tracker site appears to be updated nightly and it has agreed with the order status information from my dealer.

All dealers completed their first consensus for January last week. All dealers will see their allocations for the first half of January consensus this Thursday and next Thursday (1/16 and 1/23). Dealers will then agree to second January consensus and all dealers will have allocations again on 1/30 and 2/6.
Every dealer will see their constraints if they have allocations on the same days, 1/16, 1/23, 1/30, and 2/6.
I will post the constraints here on Thursday....

Thanks Ken, I have not ordered anything exotic; base convertible, 2LT, navigation, seven speed manual. Well, see what happens after the 16th.
