This is how to do a control-alt-delete on a car.....disconnecting batt won't do anything...
Find the battery and do a "GM global reset" GM techs do it all the time.
disconnect both of the cables from the battery
touch them together for 20 seconds or so, wait five minutes and reconnect the battery , positive first and then the negative
Didn't try glenn's idea.My luck i'd blow the alt or somethingBesides what would I do if on a trip and it happens?Carry tools for new vette?Guess i'll let dealer figure this out
not sure but would auto lock prevent starting? And if so how to disable?
No need, autolock just locks the doors and the honk is the confirmation.
I'm running out of ideas. The last resort is the reset of the car by disconnecting the battery. After that, try charging the battery. Sounds like a call for a flatbed to the dealer might be hovering in the wings.
If it were a FOB issue, you would see a message that says NO FOB DETECTED when you try to start it. My bet is that you killed the battery setting everything up (with the radio on no doubt). Roll it out of the garage and hook up a set of jumper cables..

Auto lock shouldn't disable starting. This is definitely not a common problem so I wouldn't worry about it happening on a future trip.
What sort of clamps are used on the terminals of the C7 battery? My 2008 CTS is trunk mounted and uses tool-less quick release connectors, just move a lever to release tension and remove the cable.

Did you have a battery tender hooked up? If not, charge the battery back up. You might have just enough juice for lights, but not to start the car. Nothing to lose charging the battery.
