I have owned Corvettes for 50 years. Some used and more recently some new. C1's through C6's. In all that time I have never had so many people pay so much attention and received so many compliments as with my new C7. It is a Black/Black 2LT with chrome wheels and IPP exhaust. When I park it at a restaurant or stop to get gas it always draws a crowd. Not just young people but all ages. Their comments range from "most beautiful car I have seen", "I hear they cost less than $100,000, is that true?" to "how fast does it go?"
I don't know if it is the Black/Black that sets it off or just its sleek and mean look. Whatever it is GM has hit the mark with this one.

I'm a car guy and I can look & admire the C7 all day long, especially the front and sides. Not too crazy about the back. The back doesn't fit with the elegance and finesse of the rest. And anyone I had asked what they think about C7, they say, they love it, except the rear. The rear looks cheap!

I know it's not always popular around here to be honest and have an opinion, but since I have one on order I'll go ahead and say that I don't think I'll ever grow to like the rear end of this car. I love it from every other angle and it's still the best sports car for the money on the market, but the rear end just does not fit the rest of the car's beautiful lines. I don't hate it as much as I did when I first saw it, but I still think it's a bit disappointing given how great the car looks otherwise.

Your mind will change... TRUST ME!! This new rear-end is Sweeeeet!! My c7 looks so much better than my old C6.....
The C6 looks dated.... not long ago I shot side by side photos of my '07 C6 coupe and my 1988 328 GTB Ferrari and the Vette looked really dated beside the 25-year-old car.
Wow. The OP posts about how beautiful his car is and the response he is getting to the car (and NO mention of the rear end) and some people then turn it into a rear end discussion... again
OP, the C7 is a stunner and draws a ton of attention. Sometimes I worry it gets too much attention
Yes, it is a truly beautiful car, not perfect, but pretty darn close. It does draw a crowd and lots of comments and questions. We were in Madison, IN a month ago and parked it on the street and walking to our favorite ice cream shop. When we came out there was a crowd around it talking, pointing, and taking pictures of it. Rear end is fine with me.

I've never gotten any negative comments about any aspect of my car. Quite the opposite.
I say, they should have been more creative with the rear, something along this line.
Good lord... a lot of the old die hards had problems with the tail lights not being round, I couldn't imagine the comments on here if GM when that drastic.
When the car first came out I really didn't like the rear which probably slowed down my decision to order it. It has grown on me and I now like it, could it maybe be better? Probably but I'm not sure how and I'm perfectly happy with what I have.

Rod,
It's not just the black, it's the car. My White coupe gets the same attention around town.
Yesterday I drove from home to San Jose to Fremont back home and got no less than 4 verbal comments, 5 stares that I saw and 2 different people nearly killing themselves to take pictures as I was driving by them. Apparently I miss a lot of them too, when my wife is with me she notices a lot more from the passenger seat.
It will end soon though, there's already more than a few in our city. Soon they will be more of a normal sighting.

The rear end of the C7 fits the car, in my opinion it looks great. Corvette needed a major change and we got it, best looking Vette ever.
