As a professional musician for over 50 years, I've played around the world in rock bands, country bands, big bands, jazz quartets, symphony orchestras, etc., etc. I love live, clean, present sound. I'm currently dealing with hearing loss and ringing in my ears. So a word to the wise, be smart, be careful!
This is why listening to super loud music could be detrimental in the long run. Gonna be a lot of people down the road who listen to a lot of super loud music with hearing problems and ringing ears. But of course, it's their ears and they can do whatever they want to them ... but just sayin' it's something to think about.

Any chance you know where the sub signal was pulled from? When we use the sub woofer wired, we get pops due to the noise cancellation system.
I am getting ready to upgrade my audio as well. Keeping the factory head unit via an Audison Bit One. Replacing speakers with Focal K2 Powers in all locations and adding a 10inch JL Audio sub in trunk (I have a vert). I will be running it with a JL Audio HD 900/5. Should provide enough clean power, but once I have it in and everything tuned right we are going to make the decision if I need additional power or not.
I'm having the Audison Bit One with 5 channel system installed in my 2014 Corvette as well. Looking forward to the new sound.

Looks like this thread is dead but anyone else upgrading the audio system in the c7?n I have run into issues and need advise from someone experienced. examples.... loud door chime after amp install. something interfering with the sound processing at high volume. etc...
Sorry my opinion upset you. Didn't mean to do that.
I just feel that throwing huge bass pounding speakers into a world class sports car is sacrilegious, and yeah, kinda dumb. Just having the ability to be LOUD is not the same as having quality. Maybe the OP is late teens in which case I understand it a bit better, but if all he wants is a mobile boombox and doesn't care about performance, maybe use something less desirable, like a Scion or a Hyundai??? Why waste a Vette?
But it's just an opinion, albeit a strongly held one. Didn't mean to touch a nerve.
The stock C7 system blows. Horrible sound quality, low volume, and no bass whatsoever. I miss my C6 aftermarket system. I'd rather go with a more covert sub mount in the corner personally, but I can definitely understand somebody wanting to change out the garbage sound system.
At 44, I'm another guy that wishes he took better care of his ear when younger. I don't listen to super loud stereos anymore. Really don't listen to music in cars at all. I wear hearing protection anywhere I think I'm gonna experience loud stuff. The only time I kinda rock out is putzing with my home studio. Taking care of one's hearing is one of those things most people blow off until it's too late. I still have decent hearing but I do have tinnitus. Have to sleep with the TV on. I'm sure all the posts like this sound preachy, but if you really like music you may wanna chill on the 2000 watt car stereos before you can't enjoy it anymore.
I had 2 JL 250 W class D amps along with a 150x2 to power the Pioneer Premiere speakers in my C6. In 6+ years I never had a battery issue and sold teh 08 with the original battery. My requirements were that the top had to fit in the hatch.
IMHO, the Bose system sucks but just adding subs won't fix the system itself. waiting for someone to find a way to pull low level outputs right from the HU before I start my quest for better sound.
I did love the sound from my C6 after the Dynamat and Crazy Cowboy open cell foam treatment.
would all you all deaf trolls go somewhere else. Why even comment on a forum like this where obviously the people here are interested in loud quality aftermarket sound systems? where's the moderator when you need him? did you know being overweight will cause you to die prematurely? Did you know cigarettes are bad for you? Did you know you should limit your alcohol intake? Did you know you should exercise on a daily basis? Boy back in the good ol days if I could do it all over again.... blah blah blah blah shut the f*** up.

so back to my original question does anyone have detailed do's and don'ts on the c7 aftermarket stereo install for things such as the BOSE sound interference that seems to be prevalent. Or how to avoid the amplified door chime? I know the bose amp has to stay installed because it controlls exhaust modes and a couple other things. Are the door mics changing the sound quality. Is there a fuse for the door chime? These types of questions.
wow I just went back to page one and read everything top to bottom.. why are there people on this thread giving their stupid opinion about something they're not interested in? its called TROLLING!
I gotta laugh...so an engine mod is ok but a high-end audio mod is not? How about both? Dont let douchbags persuade you not to mod your car the way you want. everyone complaining about the loud bass bothering them boo hoo. Do loud Harley pipes bother you? Do loud exhaust pipes for my Corvette with long tube headers and 3 inch x pipe bother you? Does the blow off from my supercharger bother you? Does the jet flying over your head bother you? Does the train with the loud horn bother you? Lock yourself in a room preferably padded and think about how retarded you are. my guess is your that stereotypical white guy who assumes loud bass is coming from the ghetto and means trouble..hahaha you're such an idiot.

Talk about trolling. **** off. If you don't like it you can ignore me. It's a free country and you are free to blow your ears out just like I can comment on why you don't wanna do that. I'm not trolling, just hoping someone might take my advice and not have to sleep with the TV on (or find some other form of noise to mask the tinnitus) for the rest of their lives like I do.

oh yeah use the free country rhetoric.. that's classic. this is a thread about car audio not hearing problems... seriously. sounds like you should be on the trapshooting website telling them to protect their ears or how about the roofing website I was there...air nailers are loud. or how about the drag strip fans or the NASCAR fans.. are you on their website telling them to cover their ear? no. you just posting because it was convient for you to express your dislike of loud music...... free country?.yep so go be free....SOMEWHERE ELSE. .and there ain't nothing free in this country Daffy Duck.

I think you need to call the wambulence. And excellent job doing exactly what you didn't want to see in this thread. It's apparently now about hearing loss. Actually I love loud music too. That's the problem. Loud music destroys your ears and then you no longer get to enjoy music. If you enjoy music, take care of your ears so you can enjoy it for life... Not for the first 50 years until your favorite word becomes "what?" and you can't sleep unless you figure out a way to mask the screaming in your ears.
Anyway, it's a free country, (well kinda) so I'll use the free country rhetoric if I want. Just trying to help so others don't learn the hard way. I can see modding the stereo to sound better, but it's already loud enough to do damage if you rock out left and right. Does it really need to be loud enough that people can hear you jamming your hip hop 4 blocks away?

I upgraded my system a few weeks ago. I used the LC6i line output converter. Swapped out all speakers except center one (i will soon) and added an amp. I can't help with the chimes as I am looking/waiting for a fix as well. As far as interference, I unplugged the microphones in both doors and have no issues regardless of volume to date. I have an abbreviated write up in the audio thread with some info that may help. If not, feel free to PM and I will do what I can to help.
In the next week or so, I am adding a DSP and subs and should glean more information that may suit what you're trying.
