Yeah, that was definitely an experience! Only difference is that blackmagicZ has his car in Mira Loma already while mine waits in Toledo to get picked up still. Only built 3 days apart! This rail shipping thing is really getting to me.

You arent the only one. Mine was built on the 16th and I am still waiting on the train just like you are.

It's almost over. It's just a matter of hours. Now we look at the post with people having a TPW for Aug. and Sept.? Feels like being a senior and watching the new sophomores in high school.

I just got off then phone with the GM Executive office. They tell me my car is in Toledo waiting to be put on a train. Last week they told me it was in Arlington, Texas, half way here on its way to Calif. WTF?

Team Owner
Trust me the new Stingray is amazing. But a word of caution the owners manual and Infotainment guide are sadly lacking. The car is a technological tour de force and the manuals are lacking.
I had to plug in my battery tender I ordered as I had a couple of 1 hour sessions setting up the car and learning it's secrets. Like FAVORITES. I want to strangle GM on their design of something that should be so simple.
So hang in there it's worth the wait .
Cheers

Wow! That's quite the mix up. Maybe they had input the Vin wrong before or now, and you could have been tracking a completely different car?

Did your dealer ever tell you the car was already picked up by rail? If they did, them I think that's the most accurate information since they have the Vin readily available.

Sorry to hear of all the issues guys. I hope those trains pick up the pace.
Not the this will make you feel better, but picking mine up on Wednesday morning as it's arriving at dealer tomorrow. Can't wait and good luck to you guys.

The dealer has the ability to get the most accurate info, the most consistently. Before I got my car, I tried every resource out there. I was given incorrect updates at different points by everyone accept my salesman. The dealers have access to something called the GM Business Center. (We can't call). They are able to give updates almost instantly if the dealer calls. I wouldn't put much stock in anything much more than that. And aren't you supposed to be able to get your rail car number and track it that way if it was already on a train?

My dealer got back to me and confirmed that my car is still in Toledo. As you would expect, rail car shortage. CSX, what's your problem?

You would think that with the production of the 2014 ended. They would just go ahead and ship the ones that are still sitting at the plant. Especially for us guys on the west coast that it is going to take about three weeks to rail it to us.

2014 production hasn't ended yet. Unless something changed, the last day is 8/8.
