There are jerks in all kinds of cars. I've seen a few "wonderful" drivers in Corvettes as well.
The Prius is actually an exceptionally well engineered car and is much simpler mechanically than a normal econobox. They just don't die, so the hybrid savings make sense when you buy one for less than $10k with 100k miles and drive it for another 200k miles, which it should do easily.
Much better than the Smart car which is neither smart nor innovative.
If you believe the direst predictions of the global warming scientists, almost nothing we do will change the fact that in 100 years the population of the earth will be down to one billion people struggling to survive around the arctic circle. If it turns out that way, they probably won't be saying nice things about grandpa and his Stingray.

I read somewhere, forgot where, that humans actually only occupy about 2% of the planets land mass. If this is true, I have a hard time believing that it simply our existance that is causing climate change. I feel it's kind of like saying that the dinasours created the ice age.

You should stop welding immediately. Don't you know how many amp-hours that consumes? Switch to oxy-acetylene you say? That heats up the atmosphere and contributes to greenhouse gases.
How is it possible to drive aggressively in a Prius?
Thing can't even get out of its own way..
Passive aggressively, yes, I will concede that as the OP described.
Useless scumbags....
LOL... well once they get up to speed that is. I've been passed while going a good 10 to 15 mph over the limit by a Prius. I've also been cut off many times by Prius drivers, when a turn signal would have sufficed. They also like to play the role of left lane bandits. Angry, troubled people....
Prius? No. I think it is a TOYOTA thing. IN my neck of the woods it doesn't matter if its a Prius, COROLLA or POS Camry, they always seem to go outta their way to hold up traffic. Corollas more than even Prius
Okay, so I am on my home the other day in my AW C7 vert, when some guy in a Prius cuts me off then slows down to like 15mph under the speed limit. We are in the left lane and the traffic in the right lane is to heavy to pass this idiot to the right. He stays in front of me for way longer than he needed to. Finally, I was able to pull the the right and pass the Prius. I looked in and sure enough, a very angry looking skinny old geezer with a braided pigtail of stringy gray hair and I'm not making this up, a tie died t-shirt, was clearly scowling at me as I passed. All I could think of was this really cool poster I saw on line...
Regarding my remark calling the Prius lame...sometimes I have foot in the mouth disease. Just because I don’t care for them didn’t warrant a snarky comment. Sorry about that. Don
1) The Prius owner is not smart enough to consider how bad for the environment it is to both produce and eventually dispose of his Prius.
2) By being that guy who gets infront of people and purposefully slows down, he's actually the one responsible for increased carbon emissions and poor gas mileage.
The Pruis drivers in the DC metro area are the exact opposite. Its nothing to see one flying down the highway at 80mph or better. Even in VA, where 80mph is considered reckless driver. One of the reasons they are so popular.. they qualify for use as clean/EV vehicles which are allowed to use HOV lanes here. Its a no-brainer purchase when you consider 45mpg + HOV lane use for getting back and forth to work.
Do I even need mention its generally the Corvette driver who's barely hitting the speed limit around here? Lets not pretend that our cars don't have negative stereotypes of their own.
The majority of Prius drivers I encounter around Chicago drive very aggressively (no matter which car I'm driving). I think they kind of miss the point of why you buy a Prius.
If they only knew that in Eco mode we get better gas mileage then they do.
Proof that you can have your cake AND eat it, too
The ignorance of people on the road continues to blow my mind. Prime example: Most Prius/Corolla/Sentra drivers exceed 50 miles a day while my commute is exactly 15 roundtrip. Tell me who is really harming the environment more? For this reason, I make it a point to downshift, rev, etc next to 'economy cars' who are clearly tree hugging hippies
