Crud, a pair of MMGW advocates messin up a cute thread.
When you can actually prove MMGW, talk, until then, take it to the discussion forum and try to pedal your wares in there.
The guy across the street from me has a Prius and I think it's a really great commuter car. Perfect for in town driving. A bit sluggish for my taste for highway escapades.
If the wife ever kills her 2000 Toyota Celica GTS (60,000 miles) we were discussing the Prius D as a replacement car. Small (she likes small cars) but she'd go bonkers with the automatic as she likes the manual transmission (current 6 speed).
I find it absolutely incredible that people really think that 6 billion people living, eating, working, driving, building, destroying, compiling, dying, etc on this earth has no affect what-so-ever on the climate.
Next time you start your car. Make sure to take a deep whiff of that exhaust. And try to convince yourself again that "global warming" is non-existent.
If Neal deGrasse Tyson believes in global warming...I'm convinced.
Back on topic, I totally agree about the Prius' good looks (or lack thereof). I'd never own one in its current form just because I really think that it's a boring looking car, and yes, I do put some value in form as much as function. The car is Toyota in its most typical element. I do have a neighbor who owns one who loves it for what it's worth and he even said that it'll surprise you with how fast it gets off a line. I'm sure that it's not Corvette territory, but it's not what you'd expect. I might have to go for a ride with him sometime and really get a demo of it if he's willing. I'm not sure that i'll get another car though since my Vette is my DD and I kind of like it that way. I bought it to drive it!
Same here. My Stingray is my DD, and I'm surrounded by Prius drivers. My friends who have them, love them. Just not for me.
The one time my buddy tried to beat me out at a freeway onramp was adorable. I have to admit, it was quicker than I expected it to be. It didn't vanish into the rear view mirror as quickly as I expected.
Man .. I don't understand how so many people can make such broad characterizations of people based on the car they drive. The roads are full of a-holes, driving all kinds of cars .. some of them Corvettes. I've got an '02 Z06, a C7 and a Prius. The Corvettes are strictly for fun. The Prius is for short trips, my wife's trips to/from work (I work at home), for running errands, sitting in parking lots, going places in the rain or snow, hauling crap, etc etc. It gets an honest 44 mpg without any special driving tactics, is peppy for a little car, has all the amenities one would want (ie. is comfortable and nice to drive). It's not exciting, it's economical. It's a nice little car. I would never purposely block another driver or hog the passing lane .. in ANY car.
So give it a break already. Life isn't nearly as simple as some people would like to believe ..
How many hours did it take to get up to top speed? I’m glad they are around, leaves more gas for us.
The only car on the US that is more lame is the Smart car. Don
I would rather drive a Smart Car than a lame @ss Prius. At least a Smart Car isn't trying to pretend to be a real car. I think Prius is the worst car, and worst drivers, ever. They always get infront of you to try an **** you off. All it does is make me go around an burn off a Brontosaurus as I accelerate from their fuel efficient 52 to 105 in 2 seconds.

This is like the little nerd in middle school trying to defend playing the oboe rather than being on the football team.
Any car can attract an idiot / DB but certain cars and brands attract them far more than others.
Prius is definitely one
Honda. Holy Honda Hell... is another. Honda doesn't attract ****** so much but just idiots in general that can't drive. And as stereotypes go it's not all Prius drivers and not all Honda drivers but it just so happens that there is a significantly higher percentage.
