To me Corvettes have always stood out from the crowd because of their styling, and I appreciate all of the generations, but the C7 is not even near the top of the list when it comes to looks. I've owned almost every generation and in my garage people who see my vettes love the looks of my C3 the most by long shot.
Purely on style my rankings are as follows:
C2
C1
C3
C5
C6
C7
C4

It's unfair to try to prop-up a 50 year old design against 2015.
In real time, the C2 was the best there was at the time - unfortunately, 50 year old designs don't stand much of a chance against the C7.

That's like saying that the timeless beauty of the music of Beethoven from over 200 years ago doesn't stand much of a chance against some of the contemporary music being produced today. His music was the best of its time and continues to be some of the best and most beloved music today. Likewise, the design of the C2 was the best for its day and continues to be one of the most beautiful and desired cars even today.

I disagree.

You're not disagreeing, as far as I can tell. Not sure what your point was?

I was referring to the concept of timeless beauty of design in both music and cars. Don't worry, I'm saying nothing to disparage the C7; I think it's a great car. But to imply that the C7 is better looking than the C2 based only on the fact that it's a newer design is short-sighted and purely subjective.

That's why I started off by saying, "That's like...."

Be careful though. If you say anything that doesn't resemble a compliment of the C7, people will jump all over you

C1 - C3 Older generations 1st 30 years
C4 - C7 Newer generations 2nd 30 years
Same reason we'll never all be able to all agree on whether Ted Williams is better than Albert Pujols.

The other option is to segment the Corvette generations in 2, and rank them based on looks WITHIN each segment.
C1 - C3 Older generations 1st 30 years
C4 - C7 Newer generations 2nd 30 years
Same reason we'll never all be able to all agree on whether Ted Williams is better than Albert Pujols.

The C7 design is the apex - in terms of today's design standards. It's unfair to the C2 to even compare the two generations based on just design.

Not sure how baseball player analogies could possibly fit either. Too many identifiable differences to possibly make an equal or even fair comparison.
