I've tried. I noticed when I signed up here in 2008 the C6 forum had a lot of antagonists, but the C7 section is just over the top to me. I truly picture retired men sitting at home sipping a cup of coffee just trolling the C7 forum looking for someone to argue with. It's kinda pathetic. At 35 myself, sometimes I wonder if I'm just not the norm for the Corvette crowd. It drives me nuts lol!
I'm 73, but hardly sit around on my computer trolling for arguments.
I trouble shot the coolant system on my old Ferrari this morning - happy to learn I did NOT need a new water pump... that was about two hours labor. I did, then, come in and check my email - I correspond with people on five continents - that blew another two or so...
Then I went into the back yard and shot a few rounds - have a shooting range in my backyard... half hour...
Am now taking the C7 - with the top off - out for a spin....
If ever there was a forum that needed a smiley performing fellatio on itself, it's this one.
My non-fact opinion is that wide body C6s don't experience the visual aging issue as quickly. I actually find that I like C7Z, then any wide body C6, then base/Z51 C7, then C6 for an exterior only preference.
For the interior, C7 hands down. Even with my 4LT '12 interior the C7 just smacks it pretty much everywhere.
Performance.. Well, that's the hotly debated topic now, isn't it.
Yeah, interior quality is definitely better in the C7. That being said, I find the interior comfort much worse in the C7. I'm not even a big guy or and old guy (6'1, about 175, 24), but it just feels much more cramped inside the C7 :/
Oddly enough, the C7 is way down the list in terms of looks for me, but I won't knock someone who thinks differently. It is a fair point though that the wide-body cars are going to be different. I guess when I rank the cars based on generation I rank them based on the best example of that generation, so for C6s I'm looking at ZR1s (obviously ), for C3s I'm looking at the '68-'72 (but the later ones still do look good), etc. I guess you could separate it out into each body style and not by generation, but that's getting silly

When asked by a colleague if the C7 Corvette makes the design of the C6 look dated, my response was, “Absolutely, unequivocally, yes and in a major way." I went on to say that anyone who disagrees either owns a C6, or should have their eyes checked.
I get what you are saying. You asked "If I can paraphrase the question, what it’s really asking is, between the C6 and C7, which model looks like it was designed more recently."
And, of course the C7 looks like it was designed more recently. It was.
My only complaint with the article that you posted was the two pictures that you used to compare them. The photo of the silver C7 is the car driving on the road. There is movement, action and momentum in that photo. And then the photo of the C6 is just sitting on the lawn. It is much more static.
You asked the users to look at the two photos and see which one has more edge? But of course the photo with movement and action is going to help skew that point.
That's all though! I drive a C5 because it was what I could afford when I bought my Corvette around 7 months ago. It looks dated but I love it anyway!

I am glad to hear I am not the only one that feels the overall comfort in a C7 is not good. I went yesterday to trade off my Grandsport for a base stingray. I had to walk away. I am going to trade it today for a ZR1. I personally feel the C7 interior looks phenomenal...I just couldn't ride in that car for more then 10-15 minutes tops. With that being the case. I know that I would slowly stop driving the car and it would start collecting dust in the garage until I decided to simply trade it off.
However, I think the C7 is a great vehicle...It just didn't fit the bill for me with ride comfort. I am 5'11 and 230 lbs. Not a huge guy but not a small guy either. It was simply too compact for me.

Picked it up yesterday. Traded in the 2011 Supersonic blue Grand Sport with 10,200 miles for the 2011 Supersonic Blue ZR1 with 13,300 miles. I still prefer the interior of the new C7. I simply could not get past the discomfort riding in the car as compared to the Grand Sport (simply my preference). That and the money was the same...used ZR1 or New Stingray...Kind of a no brainier for me.

The rear quarter visibility in the C6 is better, too. Congrats on the ZR1.

My wife made the same comment. The car is her daily driver. So, riding in the passenger side is very important to me...that's where I spend most of my time. The grandsport was a DD for her. Now, she gets to DD a ZR-1. My weekend worrier and her DD. Anyway, I got a little side tracked. She said it felt like the side blind spots are way worse when compared to the C6.
