By no means am I ******* the C6 because I had many years of grins, excitement and pleasure from my 2005. However, I have noticed that since I got my C7 just two short months ago, when I see a C6 it just now appears dated. One of them I saw yesterday even looked "old" if you know what I mean. Just two months ago, I felt mine and others I looked at still looked like the newest thing, but having a C7 now makes me look at the C6 as though it is old school.....anyone else noticed that shortly after getting a C7 and upgrading from a C6?
I know what you mean. After owning my 2005 for over nine years I traded it in for a new 2015. From a styling point of view, the narrow body C6s now looks a little bland to my eyes. The wide body models don't show it as much, especially the 427 and Grand Sport convertibles.
While the C6 is clearly no longer cutting edge in terms of styling or engineering, I strongly believe that it's going to withstand the test of time as well as the C2 and the chrome bumper C3. To my eyes, the C6's styling is still beautiful. I think it will still be beautiful twenty years from now, even if it's not the most exciting-looking Corvette out there.
I still love the look of the C3 and the C6. I still like the front end of the C6 over the C7, but side by side, the C6 just looks dated now from my eyes.
Over the weekend when purchasing my C7, the dealer had a C6 grand sport and a C6 Z06, both black, that looked pretty darn good. Do prefer the front of the C7 over the C6 though.
They are all good, some are better than others. We toured Route 66 last fall in the C7, and I seriously considered buying '66 just to do the trip. I turned 66 September of last year and I thought it would be really cool to do the trip in a '66. Too many sixes! Also, the ride comfort of the '66 is not nearly as comfortable as the C7! Better mpg's in the C7 as well.
The interior of the C7 is definitely an upgrade and newer looking than the C6. The C6 doesn't seem dated to me, just not as nice.
If you're talking exterior looks, then absolutely not, but that's subjective.
Yes exterior, but again it's opinion. I still see some that are beautiful.....but it still looks a little dated for some reason since transitioning to the C7.

Well, I see 2 possible explanations for that.
1.) The C7 is "new". It's such a different look that it is just that, different.
2.) You really do think it looks dated, which I don't see, but I'm not you, so I couldn't speak for you

Feel the same way that the C6 just looks out dated when compared to the C7.
I loved my C6 Grand Sport which I sold to prior to my purchasing my 2014 C7 Z51.
However I also think the styling of my 67 C2 427 will never be old, it was so far ahead of its time and still get a lot of attention at cruise-ins and car shows.
I have owned and daily driven every one of the C's 1 through 6 and wish I had them all back. Each C is in a class of its own with vast differences coming with each change in body style, some bad but most very good.
I know exactly what you mean. It didn't feel 'outdated' until the C7 came out. That shows it's pretty much a reference phenomenon. Before you had something newer to compare it to, it was fine. I still very much like the C6 I had, but the softer lines are showing their age.
Interestingly, I wonder how much of this is simply what we're used to? In other words, the C6 feels old because, well, it is. We've moved to sharper lines simply because the last generation was softer. What if the C7 body was actually the previous generation (flipped with C6)? Would we be complimenting the softer flowing lines of the new style? If you were to put the two cars in front of someone who had never seen a Vette before, would they automatically assume the C7 is the newer car?
Coming from two C6s (2007 and 2009) they do look outdated. However this should not be a surprise… I felt the same way about the C5 as soon as the C6 came out… Along with the C4 when the C5 came out. Circle of life

Nice comparison.....a brand new C6 vs a brand new C7 may not know the difference to an uninformed person...
Again, I love the C6. My C6 still looked stunning to me the day I let it go.

I have owned two C6s 08 and 13. I never really liked the view from the front it always looked "puffy" to me. As far as the C7 goes I love the car all over but I still hate the rear end treatment. I don't think I will ever get over that hiner. I do know what you mean about dated even more so than C4 or C5 for some reason.
my C7 is my first vette ever, but i still think that the C6Z06 is an awesome piece of sculpture. the front end i'm "eh" about and the back end i'm "meh about, but the wide-body C6 side profile is gorgeous, even better then the C7 Z06, imo.
i could never get over the interior in the previous gen cars, everything else was in the right place or livable and the performance was on point, but the interiors were unforgivable at the price point.
I love the C7 rear end...I still prefer the C6 front end to the C7. To me, the round grill on the C7 looks odd to the more sharp edges everywhere else. LOVE THE REAR END!
I feel that way at times as well, but I still have my C4 & C6 that each have their own 'personalities' that keep them interesting to me and allow for a direct comparison to the generational changes. I had a '97 also, but the C5 just never kept my interest so I let it go. Maybe an '01 (first year) Z06 would get me back into one. When I attend the local Cars & Coffee the C5-C6's tend to look kind of pedestrian compared to the higher end exotics. The C7 definitely kicks it up a notch.
