My wife and I are also childfree (and will remain that way). We were 28 when we bought the C7, and we've been sharing it for the past year, but looking to get second sports car soon. Right now, we're leaning towards a Lotus Elise or Exige.
We're going to have a C6 and a C7. The C6 is his. It's already modded with cam & headers, and more mods are planned (supercharger & wide-body conversion). The C7 will be mine. Mods for it are tbd. The mods for the C6 need to get finished first.
Curious to see the average Corvette owner age on this board as personally most of the people I have witnessed driving Corvettes (or any other sports car that is over $60k) seem to be 55+.
Myself, once I take delivery, will be a 36 year old owner.
When I bought my 1st vette, a C2, I was 26.
When I bought my 2nd vette, a C3, I was 36.
When I bought my 3rd vette, a C5, I was 67.
One of you out there, somewhere, is taking delivery on my 4th one, a C7, sometime this year. Be gentle with it because I want it to be pristine when I buy it from you.
This C7 I pick-up on Friday will be my first Corvette, purchased at 66. Have owned sports cars all my life. Purchased a 57 porsche 356 at age 20 and had a succession of 911 Porsches until last year and I saw the new C7, and I saw the "light".
I am 66 1/2 now. I bought my first Corvette at age 22. I bought my first Corvette after my 1970 Chevelle SS 454/450. The insurance in 1972 had jumped to $1,470 on the Chevelle. My first Corvette in 1972, the insurance was $270 a year. I just picked up my 29th Corvette on Saturday the 14th...

I bought my first (69) Corvette in 1972 after my 1970 Chevelle Convertible 350/300 and I was 22 at the time. I think my insurance on both cars was around $1,200 per year in NY. Quite a difference between the SS454 and a base 350 I'd say. But unlike you, I have only owned 3 Corvettes. 29 Corvettes is amazing....

I don't follow your math. As of this posting, there are 192 55+ votes out of 353 total votes. That is 54%, not 75%.
Just to throw a number out, if you use the mid-point for each bracket and use 63 for the 55+, the average age is 53.5.
