You knew somebody would have to ask, so I guess it'll be me...
HOW IS THE DEER???
Really sorry for you, seems like an awfully lot of structural issues, considering how well the body seems to have held up.
I was driving a new Ford SHO a few years ago, and had a deer come up and almost run into my side after dark, but at the last second he veered back into the ditch. Was in town and only going about 45, but it happened so fast there would have been no way to avoid a hit, had he not turned.
Here in Western PA we have many, many deer. Too many. Over the years my wife and I have hit 4,all within a mile or so from our home.
It is a most unnerving experience. In PA there are over 50,000 killed on the roads annually.
Fortunately,I have not cracked one with my Vette. Deer pop up everywhere around here.
I am considering starting to hunt again. If I mentioned how many deer were in my property at one time, you would not believe me. There are too many whitetails!

I believe that there are about 50,000 car/deer collisions in Michigan each year, also. The advice from experts is brake as hard as you can, but don't swerve, since going off road is quite dangerous.
Incidentally, among friends who've had deer collisions, the deer running into the side of the car seems most common.
Best wishes to OP, and I'm glad there were no injuries.
You are fortunate at that speed to only have the Corvette damaged. Could have been a real bad wreck!
Most of us feel your pain. Good to hear the deer did not get inside.
Our WV country roads are full of critters, especially at dusk and on into the night. Sometimes you have no chance to avoid the animals. Hope your repair goes well.
Don't forget the southeast. The other night while driving home we came across at least 5 or 6 groups of deer. Two deer ran in front of us. We missed one by inches, we were lucky this time.
Sorry to hear about your accident. It sounds considerably more serious than just the visual damage to the front. Glad to hear you are OK. Many folks are injured in these events so good to see you are OK. I'd make sure the damage to the car is properly assessed.
My only encounter with deer was a near miss by about 5 feet......while I was riding a mountain bike. I would rather be in a Vette.
Don't know why Jonathon Klein of the CF staff addressed the southwest and Midwest, deer are located throughout the continental US, Alaska and Canada. They're a problem everywhere they breed.
System is acting like the air bag deployed, and I believe it tried. During the initial hit the inside of the car filed with smoke or a powder of some sort. The passenger side Seatbelt cinched so tight that it pulled the metal clip into the side of the plastic on the seat and cut into it. There's a gap difference between the top and both A-pillars. Behind the drivers door the gap is off compared to the passenger side. The hood is cracked and the front fender gaps are off also. The passenger side Seatbelt pulled so hard that it strained the panels behind it and popped them out. I was going 76 mph when the collision occurred.
Failed airbag deployment is a serious failure if that is what happened. That smoke was probably just the seat belt pre-tensioner but if not I bet GM will want to take a look at the car.
that frame is tweaked. because it really isn't a frame makes it even worse. that show "ho's made" was just on and it was a "dream cars" edition, the C7.. watch how much of that car is just aluminum plastic, adhesive, etc just makes me ill... after looking at the OP pics and watching the C7 assembled, simultaneously, it feels like these cars can only be pulled straight again, but i doubt its ever as strong.
best of luck OP. i would love to see how they repair the car. maybe you can get them to document the process with pics and share?
also, i would think this would be covered under collision with whatever deductible you have needing to be satisfied, can you let us know what they say and what company? thanks
