I've always liked raised white lettering on tires. In the pic posted by the OP, the lettering actually looks pretty good to me.

Awful on modern low profile tires takes up too much tire-unlike the 15 inch wheels of the 70s when they were in vogue.

That's an SUV and the lettering is discreet and it looks like it belongs there. The Vette is a different story.

If your car is lowered and very much race inspired it looks awesome. If you have a stock ride height, convertable, Laguna blue car with the chromies it looks terrible

It's a Nissan Frontier pickup truck. See broader shot here, or a shot of mine shown below if you prefer. My reference was facetious, in response to someone who said white-letter tires were a product of the 1970s and old school, but I apparently didn't make that obvious enough. Maybe a few would've helped.

My wife had those on her pickup and turned the right tire into a whitewall. She determined how close to the curb she was by running into it.

I agree with you 100%.

That's called "parking by ear." Don't let her drive the Vette, as that technique has more serious consequences with it.

To each his own, but I can't agree with that that this is the way to do it!

On race cars it is Ad Space on a non race car it is personal preference. Liked it on the 66 GTO we had and the old muscle cars but not on a modern Corvette for us. But we also prefer chrome wheels.
