Yes, your quote sure was. So your thinking is that because a Corvette lists for 50k wheel locks should be included. Name one car that comes with wheel locks. In fact, name one car that has ever come with wheel locks. I know it must be a lot for you, but there are a lot of cars that cost way more than your 50k Corvette. Are the manufacturers do these cars "cheap" because they don't come with wheel locks?
During a break on my buyers tour I was speaking with a plant employee who recently had the wheels stolen off of his Camaro 1LE parked in front on his home. Normally, he parks it in his garage but this particular evening he did not. There was a Camaro feast taking place in Bowling Green which must have attracted a group of professional thieves as they stole the wheels off of 8 cars including at lest one Corvette that weekend.
The thieves cut the wire to the homes security camera and then disabled the cars alarm system. So I would agree with the various comments in this thread that if a professional targets you its probably game over. The Camaro owner stated that he owns 4 dogs and they were not alerted while the thief was taking place, so the thieves were very quiet thorugh the entire process.
But for the cost of a set or sets of wheel locks it seems a reasonable investment to deter the "less" professional and will give me at least a little piece of mind.
So I believe its worth the investment.
Thanks for the input both positive and negative regarding wheel locks.

Just to share some insight, You can order 5 sets of lug locks keyed alike. You also end up with 5 keys to loose instead of one. As I stated earlier.....I like the look of all 5 of them looking the same. One pic should do it.
I like the appearance of the locking lugs on your car. Where were these ordered that allowed you to specify all five keyed alike?
Here's the wheel locks I chose. Gorilla Guard 61631. They have a ring around them that helps prevent removal with the tool Lawnmower7200 describes. Are they foolproof? No, nothing is. As seen in the pics of the Z sitting on the ground if a thief wants your wheels or anything else he'll get it. Wheel locks are simply another layer in your security strategy. The bottom line is we all want to feel good about our own level of security and if buying wheel locks makes one feel good then its money well spent.
I too like the rounded look of the Gorilla Guards better than the standard locks. If it wasn't such pain I would replace ALL the lugs with these.
I'm with Frodo, but note... There's even a newer (supposedly better) version just launched by Gorilla, called the X2 series. They can be found in the "New Products" section of their web site, as well as being purchased on Amazon. I think I'm going with these.
I bought these but have not put them on yet. Had them on a prior car. Each lug needs the key to remove. Will it stop them, no, but it may slow them down a bit. Some who have used them said they can rust. Mine is a summer only so never had a problem, but if in year round climate they can rust a little toward the back.
I too use the Gorilla locks. One on each lug that I got from Amazon. Have been in snow a few times and NO RUST.
