Default 2016 Performance Timer

Unless I'm doing something wrong, I don't believe I have the performance timer on my 2016. I've scrolled through all the options in the performance menu and don't see it. I have the lap timer but not the 0-60 performance timer. Can other 2016 owners check and see if you've got the performance timer? Did GM remove it on the 2016s?

It MIGHT be available only on a Z51, or a 2LT, 3LT. What trim level do you have??

See this thread as well:

http://www.stingrayforums.com/forum/...ne-2016-s.html

Maybe it's only on 3LTs or cars with PDR now?

Default No Performance Timer on 2016

I had been trying to figure out where my performance timer was. I went to my buddies house as I know he had it on his 2014 Z51. It was in the performance menu, just like the manual states. However, mine skips over the performance and lap timer.

Any ideas how to get to it to show up as an option under the performance menu? Did they take it off for 2016's?

Below is his:

Mine never will show that on the scroll, it skips the highlighted two options below. Manual says it should. The term "performance timer" only shows up on p.100 also.

Is your car a Z51? Maybe the performance timer is only available on the Z51 and Z06.

I have a vague memory that it was posted earlier that the performance timer was eliminated for the 2016 model year. Several 2016 owners have made that comment, but apparently it is still in the owners manual?

Wow that would really suck if they eliminated that for 16!

Probably a legal safety issue. Let's face it, you are actually racing against your self. Lawyers recomend against potential hazards that could fuel legal action against the company.

I opened a case with Chevy CS. Dealer is investigating. I recommend doing so if enough people complain they may reprogram it back since it is in the manual. It's way more useful then the lap timer they replaced it with!

So, it isn't just me that is seeing this... sigh. I was hoping there was some special button.

Please let me know what the dealer says.

Yes, Z51, but my buddies is a '14 Z51 (i.e. the picture above with the timer showing).

Maybe, but usually lawyers don't let things go for two full years before "becoming aware of it".... They typically are very proactive on eliminating risk. I'm pretty they would have thought of this back on the '14.

Is it gone on your '16 also?

I've been on this forum about every day since I placed my order back in May. I never remember seeing a thread like that. If you come across it, please forward. I would love to see the resolution.

Stop treating us as babies! The Telsa has a 17" monitor in it with access to youtube! It is assumed that you're smart enough not to watch videos while driving.
