On mine I hardly ever used it right so I just use PDR. It seems more simple to use.

Default No Performance Timer on 2016

I wonder if a non PDR car would have it?

I noticed this right away when I got my 2016 and posted about it on another forum. Mine is a 2LT Z51 with PDR and it doesn't have the performance timer unfortunately in the DIC.

You can use the PDR if you have it to get the 0-60 data still though.

My 2014 non-Z51 has the performance timer.

Yeah, I saw it on my PDR, but I didn't test to see how it would work. I don't really want to turn my PDR on an off to see what I did for 0-60.

Seems very odd that it is in the manual and not in the DIC anymore. I'm sure it would be really easy for them to have a service update that added it back.

I thought new model years were supposed to ADD new features, not take them away...

Sigh.

Well, I heard back from the dealer today on this issue.

I checked into this and the since the PDR records all of the pertinent info, they removed the timer.
Isn't it more work to remove something than just leaving it be? If they are trying to reduce costs on the car, why don't they reduce SW changes. It's programming. On top of doing that, they didn't update the manual -- which will cost more money for people like the dealers calling them up trying to figure out why the feature isn't there.

For all the smart things they do, this is one of the really dumb things.

I still love my Vette though.. I guess you just love the quirky stuff also.

Sucks as plenty of people don't have the PDR

And if you do have the PDR, it's about 3X more steps to get the same information and isn't instant to find out.

They seem to keep track of our posts on this forum. I'm pretty sure they are reading this. If more 2016 owners chime in and state that they think this is an issue, they will probably respond. If I am the only one that thinks this is not cool, then I am in the minority and I guess I just have strange expectations.

I wish my new 2016 had the timer. I do have the PDR, but like was said earlier, it is not instant information and takes many more steps to get to it.

I will contact GM and let them know I can't figure it out, even though I have followed the manual exactly!

During my chat session, I was told the Performance Timer is only on the 3LT...

"I understand what you are seeking. Your vehicle does not come equipped with the 0-60 timer. The 2016 Corvette that comes equipped is the 3LT, your vehicle is a 2LT."

No that can't be right. Kevin has a 3LT and he doesn't have it...

I know. Just remember that the chat representatives probably have never seen a Corvette in person. They did submit the request to Customer Service for me though.

The did ask for my VIN first, so I am sure that is why the comment was made that the 3LT has it. I would like to see the answer for someone with a 2016 3LT Z51. I bet they say the Z51 deletes it and if you don't have the Z51, then you need it.
