I wouldn't put Jake on my Stingray convertible, but I think it looks sweet on that yellow Corvette race car. All the typical racing ads all over the car minimize the Jake logo on the hood. And when I see Jake it reminds me of all the work and engineering done by the race team that eventually improves the street legal Corvettes. And the Corvette race team has had some pretty impressive results over the years, facing race teams with bigger budgets. And we all benefit from what they learn by racing the car. That's what Jake logo is to me. Corvette race team!!
It looks ridiculous. What are we, a bunch of pirates? Yar Maties!!
However, it also looks youthful. It does NOT scream, "Hey mildred, where mah geritol?"
So, overall, it does more good than evil for the brand. Honestly, all these grandpas buying does NOT make the brand look at all cool. Makes the car seem like a perfect adult diaper spokesman.
Jake says "No adult diapers please".
Im coming off a 2012 CTSV Coupe manual. No stickers or skulls. I loved following Johnny O’Connell and Andy Pilgrim but didn’t slather my car with racing stickers. That’s why I’m mixed about the dealer installed hood sticker. My detailer will likely remove it.

The reason it doesn’t happen to Ferrari or Lamborghini owners is that it’s a much smaller audience. The “ricer” phenomenon is much more common down stream.
Comparing vettes to supercars isn’t accurate.
What you are saying isn't accurate. There are enough old and cheap (relatively speakng) 348s, Mondials, and 360s to "personalize", and yet nobody does it.
The Corvette crowd is generally much older and more mature than a 19 year old with a modified Civic, so you would expect the Civic owners to do questionable things to their cars.
Corvette owners SHOULD perhaps know better, but it NEVER FAILS! Every car show I go to, I see Bald Eagles and Anerican flags or flames under the hood. If a major Corvette aftermarket manufacturer started pushing "C7 Underhood Neon Light Kits" you KNOW they would sell like hotcakes. Hmmm......

They are already available. West Coast Corvettes, Southern Car Parts, RPI Designs and others. But it's LEDs now, not neon.

Ahh. I stand corrected! LEDs indeed. I am not surprised in the least. I bet they are selling a ton of them too. Well, I can't knock a good business idea!
Came from a car show this weekend and EVERY (and I mean EVERY) C7 (Stingray, GS, Z06) had the regalia of obligatory airbrushed coil covers, brake MC cover with a "chrome" cap, and painted/filled in Corvette logo on the underside of the hood. Most also had the Jake logo. Have you ever seen a Ferrari or classic Maserati with similar nonsense? I have been to ALOT of shows and Corvette is the only car that does these "upgrades" to this degree. It is a shame because Corvette has lost the younger person who they should be chasing. I think it is an embarressment. It reminds me of This is what I think of when I see a Jake on a Corvette
Welcome aboard!
You are full of it, of course , but hey have at it...
Won't find it on my car. IMO it looks too high school-ish or even juvenile like others have said. However, if you want it on your car knock yourself out!
Volvo has the unofficial 'Prancing Moose', a play on Ferrari's emblem. So, even the stodgy, safe and sensible Volvo demographic does it. Oh, and Vovlo has a race team and performance division (Polestar) too. Why mention this ? Just wanted to feel included

The Swedes would be upset calling their beloved Elk - a moose!
We sold our business to a Swedish company and they loved to hunt Elk. I know they have antlers that look like a moose but they have hoofs like a deer or Elk. (You can see them in that pic!) In any case in Sweden they are called Elk!

Hum, I don't believe they know the difference between an Elk and a Moose I know the difference as I hunt them.
