After reading this thread, it really reminds me of attending the local Corvette club meeting right after having bought my GS.
Over 100 people in the meeting, most in their 70's and older. The main topic of conversation were the various "burger" runs they were planning and who was going to be on the committee's and where to go. These dominated the meeting. Meanwhile, a small group was begging for people to work an event at the Iowa Speedway for an autocross that was coming up. Over $30K was being spent to rent an incredibly nice NASCAR racetrack and there was just about zero interest.
I left and never went back. The same type of mentality permeates this thread. Jake is about one thing, Corvette Racing and the resident "burgermeisters" are speaking up.
When I see Jake on a vette, or any vehicle I automatically know it's a racing fan and a supporter of Corvette racing.
I am a fan and supporter of Corvette Racing, and when I ordered my new ZO6 in Blade Silver, I planned on doing the black Hood Stinger just to break things up a bit, but after seeing a couple pictures of the Jake Hood Stinger on a few Grand Sports I decided to order the Jake, just to be that little bit different. I don't have the Jake mats or any other decals, but I've had many positive comments on the Jake Stinger. Like another poster said, as long as the owner likes it, and I do, so if anybody else doesn't like it, that's their own opinion and I can respect that.
Hum, I don't believe they know the difference between an Elk and a Moose I know the difference as I hunt them.
Probably don't kill as many Swedish Elk (Moose in NA) as they do! Consider the US has a population of 325 million versus Sweden's 10 million they kill 100,000/year! But don't worry PETA folks that # come right back!
Made pic below. It may be a translation issue but they are called ELK in Northern Europe. I was told the hoof is different- but from these pics I found- not sure! ELK are a big problem in Sweden, 6000/year hit cars!
You are full of it, of course , but hey have at it...
"You are full of it of course"
Full of what, friend? My opinion that Jake logos are gross and lame? An embarrassment to the Corvette bramd? The plethora of airbrushed underhood "look at me, I am unique, I am different than the rest" nonsense? Thinking chrome plated wheels on a sports car is foolishness?
It is no wonder sales are down, and it is NOT only due to the C8 on the horizon. Corvette has a SERIOUS image problem with the next generation of potential customers, but what do I know? I am full of it. 🙄
Love it! And because it's part of Corvette racing.. it makes my Z go faster... ha ha... but yes, I'm a "for it" owner. May not be suitable on all models and/or colors but on my DSOM it sure is.
