I've had some minor issues, most of which were fixed with a TCM software update and "fast learn" procedure done at the dealer last November. Mine's a 12/18/14 build.
Same here..2016 A8 1LT..1300 miles..no real issues except the 2-1 downshift when cold..excellent transmission so far.I am a mere mortal..I can't shift the car as fast as it can itself..
2015 Z51 A8. On these cold winter mornings after sitting all night C7 starts up fine and shifts into reverse fine to back out of the garage no issues. Shift into D and move forward and you can feel a slight bump when first gear shifts to 2nd gear. Once the car warms up this goes away. Actually when the trans is warm the shifting is so smooth without the sound of the motor changing you would not know the gears are changing. The Trans is terrific except for that first 1st to 2nd shift. Anyone know if a "refresh" would correct this. Trans shifts so good otherwise I hesitate having the dealer mess with it. Any thoughts.
2016 Stingray. Built June 2015. Very similar issues. Not sure I will have dealer investigate during my first oil service in a couple months. 3500 miles on car.

2015 Z-51 built 6-15 3,300 miles only problem when driving on highway at 70 and punch it down rpms held around 4,000 and when slowing down the rpms stayed up even when slowing down to 25 mph.

If you were not using the paddles it went into performance shift mode. The car thought you wanted to race, so it kept you in peak rpm. Smart car.
I haven't done the math in detail, but it seems like around 30%-35% of the A8 owners within this post have experience minor and/or major issues.
Yea, of the ppl who have replied. You're going to get a lot more ppl posting here if they had an issue then if they didn't so doing the math for this thread is useless. 1% of A8 owners having transmission issues would be a lot closer to reality then your 30-35% figure.

1% is your guess ...then why is there a service builten and why did a service manger state that he feels there will be a recall ?
2015 built 12/17/2014 with 3400 miles & no issues. Shifts smooth, fingers crossed it stays this way. Anybody sure at what point in the 2015 builds that the updated torque converter was put in.
