FYI I copied cd music to a thumb drive.....then tried playing in my C7 USB port....no luck with that.....I'm sure there is a way to do this ....I'm not savy enough to figure this out. Cd player with the right cord would be great.....but like Jerry I don't know what cord I need...
IIRC, there is a headphone jack in the center console/under the armrest. Connect from the CD player to that jack. 3.5mm to 3.5mm patch cable.
Which is too bad as .MP3 frankly sucks as far as audio quality. However, in a car environment, especially cars like ours, it really is good enough. Especially when saddled with a Bose system. I have plugged in a portable CD player and it worked, but the wires and batteries was an annoyance. So for the car and the gym the iPod is fine. At home, no way. That the time for the B&O turntable or the Nakamichi ZX-9....
Better hurry- cd drives on computers are about gone too as they should be. Always be able to get a plugin drive I imagine but so much easier to just download....to be honest I quit downloading 5 years ago as well , too much hassle. I simply have my playlist in the cloud.....I have given in to the fact that to play a song I don't have to physically hold a cd or thumb drive....I can't lose a cloud....you have to have a backup of your thumb drive stored....I just let them store it for me....it's always available ....nothing I have to have with me. Way things are headed anyways. It's just easier....I like a song and I add it to one of my playlists....all there is to do.
I just bought a 2016 coupe and it does not have a cd player. Now, I do not have a mp3 player or an IPod but was thinking maybe a portable CD player may work..

You could also download your cd's on your computer and then attach your smartphone to your computer and download the songs to the phone !!! With Bluetooth you can play songs on your car's media center !!! It's best to start playing the songs on your phone and as soon as the car is running the songs should play !!! Wayne
