In a box-stock 2016 Z51 at Summit Point, I hit 143 indicated going into the brake zone at T1 with a passenger. I was driving about 9/10ths... not pushing the car hard, and braking 100 feet early.

My guess is without a passenger, and doing 10/10ths, the car would easily be doing 150 (indicated) at the brake point.

yes I relate to that idea! went there jest to see if there was an edge to look over were the car is starting to be unstable -didn't happen
I jest could not believe how stable it was ..
Like the other poster get my kicks now on the on ramps!
There is something called un nessary speed ... I think?
This car takes a bite of my disposable income but OMG it is so worth it!

I've had my C7 up to about 135. I had my C6 up to 175 at a closed road charity event. The C7 feels much more stable at speed than my C6.

Someday I'd like to find an event that will let you go all out. I'd like to see if i could hit 200 mph. I have 700 RWHP but I'm not sure if that's enough.

Some years ago in my early 60's I had a young lad fawning over the Corvette I owned at the time, so we were talking. After a few moments of discussion he got around to the question-how fast have you gone? As he awaited my answer with an eager expression on his face, I replied with the best straight face I could muster--75mph. All the color seemed to leave his face and I'm sure he was thinking what a waste. Shame on me!

I'm sure that's way more than enough. Stock power took me to 170.

in each that was the limiting factor and the speedos were not calibrated so it is questionable as to real speed ...
My 76 stingray L88 coupe Showed 120 jest before the speedo broke
None of them were it was the only car that felt stable over 110
But my z51 feels like it's on rails it is so stable !
This car is built to be to be on the autobon
Scary thing about cars back then was the tires. Most were not really designed to go much over about 85. Was the '76 Stingray an engine drop-in? I didn't know they made a '76 L88.

The CHP wrote me for 77 on an on-ramp in Loomis. That one cost about $400 after fines and traffic school. So I am glad they weren't waiting for you.

In October, I hit 130 somewhere in the middle of Nevada. The car did great, the driver was the weak link.

Hit 176 in my supercharged 392 Challenger and I think around 140 so far in the Z51. The Vette feels very planted at higher speeds than the Chally.

My Flame Red Stealth RT/TT was parked in the street, we were sitting on the porch, cop car was cruising up the street, he slowed to a stop and asked if it was as fast as it looked, to which I said "Yes, but I wouldn't know that myself". I think I had that up over 130-136, smooth and stable at speed.
My C5 Z06 4,000-4,500 rpm in 4th which should be 130-140
my GS C6 about the same I think, maybe a little less, but I haven't driven it as much yet.
Lastly 140 on my Aprilia RSV1000R

I had my 60 440 6pack Coronet up about 130, on a road with multiple small rises, got really light (road like a truck normally), let off the gas slowly and let it slow some before braking...

2010 grand sport never broke 130. Just never felt the need, but man did I love the drive feel and control of that car.
2014 Stingray has been somewhere between 140 and 150.

Now that I know what it can do, I just don't feel the need. I do corner hard an awful lot...

Heck, just zippin' around Spring Mountain's small track I was hitting ~115.
Similar list of cars,
99 Z28
2002 Z06
2013 GS

What do you feel about the 2014 compared to the GS after you've had it for a while?

1966 Corvette 427/390 4sp - side pipes -- 157 in state of Montana - legally, when limit was "reasonable and prudent" -- where I was that day on big 2 lane blacktop, 6 mile straightaway 30 miles from town, was probably reasonable - Now prudent? Not on old red-line two-plys and the front end from about 125 up was floating like crazy; that was nuts!! LOL.

My C7 -- maybe 100 in Mexico LOL. (but much safer)

I don't know. That last 30 mph is like trying to push a brick through a wall

An L88 1976 Covette? Never heard of one.

My 1977 L82 C3 did 115 mph easily. Would go much faster if one wanted it to.
