Hi folks. Finally traded my 2001 Coupe for a 2016 version. The chrome stingray badge on the sides breaks up and hurts the design for me. I'm thinking of removing it using dental floss and a solvent, like I removed the body side moldings on my 91. Has anyone done this? If so are there any caveats (like a hole to locate the badge) I should watch out for?
Photoshop with/without attached. Color is Shark Grey.
Thank you for your help. GM
Without.
With badge.

Reason: spelling correction
There are no holes to worry about. Dental floss or heavy fishing line will do the trick. You may want to apply some gentle heat to the area (such as with a blow dryer) before the operation; doing so will soften the adhesive and make it easier to remove all of it. WD40 works well in removing lingering adhesive residue.

I removed the "CORVETTE" badge from the butt as well. IMO, less is more.
Before
After
Thanks for the photos....now I know I don't want to remove the letters...
In this case, less is actually less..
Why not just take the Corvette emblems off too?

I did it to let you know NOT to remove your letters. To each his own . . . Live and let live . . . etc.
Actually, it's the opposite of what I did on my C5 which was to add the inset SS letters when I first got it. After all these years, I realized how much I don't like them and they will be coming off as I complete the transformation of that car.
I removed the fish and the Corvette script across the rear. I sprayed around them with WD40 and let it sit for 30 minutes. They literally popped off with no glue residue.
Fishing line and dental floss work but tend to leave the rubbery adhesive which can be a PITA to get off.
I did take mine off right away so they may not have been really stuck down.
