That's unfortunate... I'm still not clear on what happen. Did the Jack move on its wheels, or slid off its contact point with the car. I've seen too many thread like this and glad that nobody was hurt. The car can be fixed.

The driver's side of the car was on stands and I had installed the second skirt. We were admiring the work while I was starting to let the jack down. It appears the wheels on the jack didn't move as they should have to keep it under the puck, plus I had removed the cupped saddle for clearance. The jack slipped to the outside of the car and since it was higher than the stands, it dropped onto the jack and crunched the skirt and the rocker panel and part of the fender. I paused in amazement at my ineptitude then tried it again with better results.
Ouch! Yeah, I know that feeling. I just destroyed my brand new ACS composites chin spoiler on a parking brick today . Needless to say I also bought a Curb Alert at the same time.
Believe it or not, I didn't even swear, and that's saying something for a retired sailor.
Yeah, I was just gonna say: "Damn, he's taking all this awfully well." (which is way better than I'd have taken it) Hope the fix is as pain-free as possible.
it's critical that the wheels on the jack roll freely when you're jacking it up from the side. from lowest position to full extension up, the jack will move 2 to 4 inches as a guess, maybe more.

It's also critical that there be a high friction material between the jack and the metal "puck" like the rubber that was removed from the jack. I can't imagine jacking on a metal to metal surface. And a small surface at that.

Not cool. I hate it when you try to do stuff yourself to save money and enjoy the time for it turn out like this and you wish you hadn't.
It always seems that little DIY tasks turn into big projects. It's like the dealership gods know you are working on the car and cause a little misfortune as punishment for not using them. lol.
No cussing!? That's impressive. I don't think I could have held back and I am just an ordinary computer guy. Thank you for your service!!
That is terrible, but certainly repairable. Do reach out to us, we generally do not sell singles, but will help you out with the needed single skirt and price break.
Consider yourself fortunate you were not hurt, fixing cars is the easy part of life ;-)

Personally, only my pride was hurt. I disposed of the undamaged skirt when I got rid of the broken one, but I appreciate the offer. That's great customer focus.
