Is there a website I can put my order number in and get this information or do I have to use the Chevy Chat line ?

I don't know of any online site other than Chevy chat. There used to be one called gm connects dot com that let you track your order, but it is no longer up.
In my experience, once your Vette is built (3800) Chevy chat clams up and stops giving status or event codes and starts referring you to your dealer. Not sure exactly why. It has been my experience with 2 Vette orders in the last 12 months.
The OP has a right to pass on the car, but he's going to have to wait it out and see if the car looks ok. As long as th paint matches and the body panel alignment is within spec it should be fiine. If not, I'd order another one. At least he knows where concentrate his visual inspection. Most people are so caught up in the purchase they overlook stuff and end up having to battle the dealer to get it taken care of afterm they've taken delivery.
Last week my event codes went from 1100 to 3000 in 45 minutes, just two days after I placed my order. Estimated build date (TPW) is 11/21/16. We'll see.
