I use Waze and love it - but can you tell me more about this 'NavTool' interface - I would love to have this display on my center screen. Does it also provide the audio? Thanks.

I see Bluetooth audio streaming with navtool, navtool recommends to use direct audio to auxiliary
how does it update via vin? Just wondering if a few of us chip in and pass it around if it will work? We used to do that on fords a lot...
I just updated today and looked at all of the files on the USB drive afterward. Based upon the file creation or modification dates there is nothing written to the USB drive after the initial release was made. I believe the VIN is used to track which revision NAV unit you have. In various config files they refer to the NAV unit project as "GM NextGen NAR 2015Q4 (MY15/16)" . Since that same file has the GM part #84198834 in it, I suspect that anyone that received the notice in the mail referring to the part # will get the same file.
For me, the update was worth every penny and would be a bargain at twice price! The original map/routing data was very out of date and full of routing errors. I could never trust it. It had me get on divided highways using the off ramp, not on ramp, crossing over medians to make a turn, telling me to take the next right, which was a ramp that wasn't shown on the map, but should have been, since its mate for the opposite direction was and both were built at the same time. Plus several other dangerous issues.
All of the above was just for one 70 mile route I drive twice a month. I reviewed the new map route and all of the problems have been fixed. Plus it no longer pads the arrival ETA by 45 minutes!

Steve, What year map did you have before you updated it. I have a 2015 with map 23496379. My neighbor has a 2016 with map 23346621. I understand the 2017 map is 84198834. Is that correct? Thanks, Norm

I had the 2015 map. Yes, that is the product # for the 2017 that I installed.
