Hi guys I have a 2014 z51 fully optioned c7 convertible it does not have front facing camera
What I would like to know is if just a case of changing the front grille with the camera installed
I assume that the wiring loom and plug will be their but could be wrong any help would be fantastic
If you have the 1 LT package Im told the wiring connections arent there. If you have the 2 LT or 3 LT package it is there. BTW I have a 2015 grill with cameras if your interested
The front grill camera was introduced for the 2016 MY. The system is standard on 2LT, 3LT, 2LZ and 3LZs only.

Reason: spelling
Since the Front Camera was installed in 2016 and up, there is no way to retrofit the factory setup. But several guys on the forum (me being one of them) came up with an alternative inexpensive method to have a from camera on 2014-2015 Corvettes or for that matter any car. There are complete instructions on what to buy and how to install it.
If you have the wiring you will need to swap the HMI in the bottom left driver's side kick panel. Google gm-navigation and reach out to them, they can enable it.

Another option is the Navtool. It and $20 front camera and you are getting front video on the NAV screen.
There is no wiring. There would be no reason to put wiring in a 2014 for an option which was introduced in 2016.
I have yet to see any unused wiring in a C7. It appears as if the harnesses are only built with the necessary wiring to support the vehicle content.

I have a friend who installed it in his C7 and loves it. With that said you should understand that its expensive (about $400) and that's without the install. He installed his own but said it was a major project, so if you going that route check on how much it will cost for a pro to install it. Lastly he a had problem with his iPhone not connecting all the time and found out that you HAVE to use the Apple iPhone Lightning/USB cable, not some third party cable.

I use a belkin cable to connect mine and never had a problem. I will try using an apple cable if it gets weird. thanks for the tip!
The front camera I installed was an hour or so. The Navtool was maybe 2 hours. I did it all in my garage. I read the information and used the correct cable and Lightning interface.
My troubles with the system are fully documented and resulted from software coding that was fixed from our complaints.
The system is flawless and works as advertised. Front cameras on the new cars are a lot more than $400.
Hardest part was running a wire bundle from the passenger side to the drivers side of the console under the dash. I lucked out and it went through without issue. I've helped 2 people install it and the process is a snap now. We were breaking ground on a new product for the cars that had sketchy instructions for the install.
Some folks have had major moments of very colorful language getting that console wire in place. It can be a PITA!
