Hooked mine up today for the first time no issues at all 2017 Grand Sport. Worked keeping me in V8 mode no dash lights. You must have gotten a bad unit. See pic 60 mph no V4. Happy.

The two statements in bold above are at odds with each other. Why would they keep shipping units for C7s if they know they have a problem?
I don't believe they knowingly send out defective units. When I called they said they knew there was a problem and thought the problem was resolved.
Regarding customer service.
I received the disabler. After two weeks I experienced the problem. Called the company and they sent out a new unit that same day. Received the new unit two days later. Plugged it in and two weeks go by and same problem. Called the company and they sent out a new unit that same day. Received it two days later.
Neither time did I have to send the defective unit back before receiving the new unit. When the new unit arrived there was a prepaid shipping label to send back the defective unit.
Further, both times I called the calls were answered, no messages, no follow ups, etc.

To me that is exceptional customer service.
So are you saying you had them work fine for two weeks, then all of a sudden they took a ****? If thats the case im going to send it back.

It's intermitant. Always at start up. Took about two weeks to through a CEL and go into limp mode.
I would stick with it and see what happens. Or, call them reference the 8.1 Beta I have and the version you have and see what they say. I stand behind they have great customer service and will make it right.
The version I was using over summer only triggered a CEL twice in 3 months of frequent driving and as Doug noted those were both at start up. Basically there is a lot of traffic on the vehicle network at startup and a data collision results in loss of communications with the transmission control module. Restarting will take the A8 out of protect mode that results from this issue (which results in it being locked into a single forward range once drive is selected) and the later versions of the Range module provide for resetting the DTCs by plugging the module in with the vehicle already started.
I'm not trying to be a smart alec here, just wondering. Is it because of factory warranty?
Why bother tuning it out or taking a chance with the Range unit? My '14 has never seen V4 mode. Ever. It stays in Sport mode and I use the paddle shifters which disables V4 mode.

Sorry to hear about your problems. Did you buy your unit directly from Range or from a 3rd party? I have heard some of the units being sold by 3rd parties have old software/firmware. I was thinking about buying one as well but not until I am convinced it will work without having any negative effects on the normal operation of the car. Not willing to take a chance voiding my OEM and extended warranties. Hopefully you can exchange your unit for a new one that will work properly. Please keep us posted.
How would it "void my OEM and extended warranties"?
How would it "void my OEM and extended warranties"?
GM can invoke the clause that the device tries to modify normal operation of the car's ECU. As I understand it this can void the warranty. I'm not willing to take accept that risk. YMMV.

It does not modify anything so unless you leave it plugged in when bringing it into a dealer there is no way they can tell it was ever plugged in.
Will using Range affect my warranty?
NO! That's the beauty (and the innovation) behind this technology.
"It DOES NOT alter/reprogram/reflash ANYTHING in your vehicle's powertrain systems. It is ONLY active when plugged into the OBD II port and is its own standalone "mini powertrain controller". The module contains a powerful microprocessor and does all the "heavy lifting" to work in concert with the factory powertrain modules to alter the AFM operation.
It DOES NOT override any factory safety features (such as over temperature protection, low oil pressure protection, diagnostic fault protection, etc.) It retains all the factory protections and works within the factory system limits.
When it is time for service or warranty work, simply unplug it from the connector and it is totally removed from the vehicle to allow the dealer service tools to be used."
I'm on my third unit in less than a 2 months. I'm testing an 8.1 Beta verion. So far so good. Good company with exceptional customer service. Buy one. If you're having problems they will exchange - they are very well aware of the problem with C7s... but problem seems to be solved with version 8.1.
I'm wondering if the seat belt software update has something to do with the problem since no one reported any issues with the unit until after the seat belt update?
Mine worked fine before the seat belt update but I have not used the AFM Disabler since the seat belt SW update.
