Default Android Auto

I can launch android auto from my phone when not connected to the car however when I connect to car and it tries to auto load. The projection icon changes to android auto my phone flashes to it then both drop off.
I've tried reinstalling the app, is anyone else having this issue?

I'm having difficulty trying to launch AA though the Infotainment system as well. There are a few threads here about the topic, one of which I started a few days ago. So far, no solution.

Here are some things to be sure you have:

A high quality cable specifically for data transfer.
The latest software update for your phone.

I'm sure others may chime in as well with more suggestions. Which phone are you using?

Yeah and if I launch the app from phone it wont connect to infotainment system. It could be the phone itself it's 2 years old.

That's what I'm thinking too. I still using my 2 year-old Galaxy S6.

I'm wondering if a newer phone would be more likely to connect. In my other thread, I've asked to find out what phone guys are using that is working with the Infotainment System.

Please let us know how it works with the S8.

My 2 year contract is up next month so I may go in that direction too.

I'm using a Galaxy Note 3 with no trouble. Just wait for Android Auto icon to replace Projection icon, then wait a few seconds for it to load.

It's more than likely the cord. Try the one that came with the phone. I still have an S4 and it works fine.

I had connectivity issues early on. I ordered a high quality 6 inch cable with a braided cover. I have not had one problem since then. I have a Motorola x Pure running Marshmallow that's a year and a half old.

I bought the best data cable I could find from Best Buy and it still doesn't work.

I'm wondering if there is some sort of setting on my phone I need to change in order for it to function like it should.

A lot of user's on Google's Android Auto forum have had this problem with cables from Best Buy. I'd suggest trying an Aukey or Belkin cable. Shortest one that will work for you.

That cable is about as tough as you can get. Have you tried resetting the phone and starting fresh?

I wonder, with such a short cable, where exactly are you plugging it in? It seems like you're trying to use the lighter or something like that? Because I do not think that that has a data connection to the car. I'm not sure that the USB outlet in the secret compartment has a data connection or not. Me, I use the USB port under the arm rest with a data cable and have had no problems.
