Melting Slicks
I couldn't find anything about the Smart Driver stuff on the OnStar website until I did a search and it gave me the URL for it.
I tried enrolling, just to see how much it was, among other things, and it told me:
even though we have a 2017 Traverse on the OnStar account. Maybe all of the cars on the OnStar account have to be 2015 or newer?

Give it a few years and just like Ins. becoming mandatory in the '80's, this will become mandatory too. Probably when Driverless cars start becoming the norm.

When I discussed those devices with him, he said you could have the worst score, still receive the 5% discount, and your rates aren't raised. If you have a really good score, your discount could be up to 40%. He said these programs are designed to incentivize safer driving and to get people to think about how they drive. That can't be a bad thing in this age of clueless texters.
The discount is even greater if you have a long time record of no tickets and no accidents. No one gets their insurance cancelled or rates raised as a result of participating in that monitoring program. The only factors that cause someone to lose coverage or have a premium increase are traffic convictions and accident claims.

Thanks for sharing you all! I just un-enrolled from that Smart-Driver feature from the Chevrolet mobile app. They do say however that they will keep recording/monitoring my driving but just will not share it until I re-enroll.
