As someone who's been lurking here for quite some time (wanting to get feedback on the C7) & having been on a couple other car forums, I can honestly say this forum takes the cake for some of the asinine threads & comments I've read over the last few months.
That's all I have to say about this asinine thread.
I like both black or chrome depending on the color of the car. I really like the bronze on some too. No matter the color of wheels, I give a thumbs up to all vettes and always wave. These cars are as individual as the owners and from stock to modded to the nines (even ricer modded!!!)...I love them all.
My cars suit my personality. My C5 is murdered everywhere including black wheels, and my C6Z has my "fun stuff" on the back for autoX...I change it out from time to time, but I love to have fun with my cars...my motto is FAST AND LOUD!!!...lowered, Borlas, badass American muscle is what I like and I guess I'm geezer age (I get my social security, so that counts, right??). Do what you like and don't ask permission from anyone on any forum, and don't give a rat's *** what they think either!:cheers :
P.S...All 3 vettes have black wheels FYI

Ok, fine. If you can't beat them, join them I guess.
Was leaving a client meeting last summer, I had to pull into an adjacent lot and take it all in when I noticed this fine example. At first I thought "too much?", but I must admit, the chrome wheels really classed it up.
Here you go chrome fans, I'll just leave this here for you to enjoy.
It's amazing how out of touch it becomes here with what is "over" .....ooooover
Future crossover younger higher-end customers do not want chrome, it is seen as tacky, over the top, out of date. Kid yourself all you like...thats the deal.
Some of these chrome gems are so overboard they start to look plastic.
The Eisenhower administration is over ....for the love of God ....move on
You don't make any sense.
Chrome can be tacky, or it can be the right amount of shiny to bring it all together.
The only thing I can see when other people feel the need to make fun of someone for a choice is to validate their own choice.
Basically anyone who overtly and repeatedly picks on someone for something that's based on subjective (i.e. ones opinion) data is doing so to find like minded people to "confirm" their bias, thus allowing them to sleep better at night because they are "right."
When it comes to wheel options, there is no right or wrong answer. There are generally accepted tacky things, but I don't think any of the stock Corvette items (excluding maybe some of the design packages) fall into this category. That's not even to say I like them, there are a lot of cars on here I find ugly, but I don't feel the need to insult the owner over them.
When i was going to order my 2016 Z-51 Stringray i did not like the chrome bar on the grille. Next thing you know i order black emblems, mirrors, spoiler and Black Wheels. I add a Carbon Flash spllitter and side skirts. I love the look of my car but never though about keeping my Black Wheels Clean.
