What is a safe space? I like most car people, some are neanderthals though.
safe space noun
a place or environment in which a person or category of people can feel confident that they will not be exposed to discrimination, criticism, harassment, or any other emotional or physical harm.

BTW... An open forum isn't one....
So we can be racist and discriminate freely here at CF and have no repercussions? Cool, have at it.
I'm thinking the Mods might have something to say about your "open forum" take on this issue.
Nothing racist about it... It's a term started with Japanese bikes and has continued to include the tuner cars... even those built in the USA. When you start making every comment about race, you become the racist. Political correctness run amuck.
BTW... My Chinese business associates that ride, refer to their bikes as rice rockets... Can we get back to Chrome Wheels.... Lol
I don't want to jack someone else's thread, but what is it with chrome wheels?
I mean really, 1960 called and it want's its wheels back. Nothing says geezer owns it, more than having chrome wheels.
Just had to rant.
Chrome wheels look so much better on a C7, and the black wheels look like a taxi, police car or like you have brake dust build up. IMO, the black wheels take away from the C7. You can have your taxi car wheels in black!

You must be kinda new around here to think the mods care about expressed racism on this forum.
For a glimps of some really unbelievable stuff, go hang out in Off Topic, or worse, Politics, Religion and Controversy forums. If you think 'ricer' is bad, get ready for a revelation.
Don't get me wrong. I'm as opposed to it as you apparently are; it's just that you need tough skin to hang around here sometimes and overlook the jerks, racists and bigots that sometimes post. There is enough good humor, good information and good people that make it worth the time to keep coming back.
If you're thin-skinned enough, and look hard enough, offense can be taken at almost anything, but ya' gotta' be lookin'.
In my experience the term 'ricer' denotes a style choice, not a race of people. Usually it's a cheap, flashy, non-functional automotive styling choice of modders and tuners younger than 25.
Interpret it as you may, take offense as you will, it's your choice.

Sweet, let's let it rip then. I have black wheels so I must be a slanty eyed ricer wannabe. See how easy that is. Who's next?

Are you the same guy got banned a couple of years ago for ragging on this subject? Chrome wheels aren't my thing, but some people like them. If you don't, don't buy them. Also, don't tell other people what they should, or shouldn't like and buy.
If you are that same guy, here's the comment I was going to make but that thread got closed:
Your Ferrari owning buddies aren't going to consider your Corvette an equal even if Chevy does stop selling chrome wheels.
Chrome wheels have been around forever because of how they make a car look. Let's see how long your fugly, pathetic, hideous black wheels stay in style. They do nothing positive for the looks of any car.
