Got over 15k miles on my 1LT...zero regrets. It does everything I need it to do.

Heck, a well bought new base/1lt is similar in cost to moderately optioned SUV/pickup--which are way more useful/practical, but not nearly as cool... .
Most of my conversations end with, you can get one too, they cost as much as you think. Especially when you compare a new C7 to a new Lexus LC500. The base car is 92k!

I have a '15 1LT, and the only thing I miss is memory seats. I have to put the seat all the way back to get out, and readjust when getting back in, but I can live with that. If I had a colored interior, I guess 2LT extra color would be nice, but for black, it really doesn't matter. Definitely a first world problem...

1LT seats seem to me comparable to the Recaro LX seats I used in the 1980s (and still use as desk chairs) in terms of side to side grip. I'm not sure why you would need to narrow them down with the inflatable bolsters.

Now ventilated seats would be nice for summer, but not for $5000.

The 1LT seats fit both my wife and I like a glove, my seat is set all the way back so the memory function would not be needed. The only thing I believe I would like from the 2LT is the additional bass speaker.

My 2000, 06, & 10GS were all 1LTs & I had no complaints. When I ordered my 14 I went 3LT to get the full Kalahari interior including dash. I love the 3LT, but if don't experience a 2LT or 3 you will be very happy with a 1LT.

The big benefit of 1LT models is if you trade them in frequently, as I've noticed when checking black book trade in values, there is no added value for 2LT, 3LT, the added value stuff is chrome wheels, Z51, NAV, automatic, etc.

I wish some of the 2LT options were stand alone though. I would be happy with a 1LT but I really like the idea of having the vented seats. But is that worth an extra $4000? Not really. The other stuff I can live without.

Ask yourself this.

Do u need the extra pieces trim to be a different color other than black

Do u want memory seats

Do u need heads up display

Do you need navigation

If yes to.most then yes you need 2lt
Otherwise no

I went with 1lt one because my interior is black, i have no problem getting in and out the car without adjusting the seats. I simply hate all installed car navigation. I use the phone instead. The only thing i wanted was the heads up display but was it enough for the extra 5k? Nope

Regardless on which lt u get im certain ull br adding parts to your car. It just comes with the car, whether it be performance or cosmetic.

The tens of thousands of us who got the 2LT would disagree with you.

Navigation is available as an option with 1LT just as it is with 2LT.

But I'm saying it's probably not worth it to me for my situation. I'm not saying the 2LT isn't a good package. I agree that you do get a lot for the money. But if I'm trying to get a new C7 for the lowest price, then I have to weigh what is the bare minimum I can get and still be happy.

I had 3LT in my last car (2015) and 2LT w/nav in my current GS. Don't miss the leather interior at all, except the smell and dash colors (red), and I could do without nav. Wouldn't want 3LT again for the price difference, but here's my take on 1LT vs. 2LT:

Console and door panels in interior color - Black interior, no difference. With 2LT and a color other than black, I think the color balance is too heavy in the rear and lacking in the front. For example, in a red interior there's lots of red in the rear (console and seats) and little to none forward. I would be okay with 2-tone seats, however, which to me balances black and red better. I did like the 3LT AR interior in my last TR car, but is was almost a red overload that took a while to get used to.

Lumbar/wing adjust - Better fit in seats, but will likely only make this adjustment once. I'm average size (5'10", 170#) and would probably fit in the standard seats fine.

Heated/vented seats - Meh. Neither are very effective, but I use them.

Seat emblems - Meh, but would like better if they matched the exterior emblems (black).

Curb view front camera -

Bose® premium audio - Haven't heard the base system yet, but I doubt if I'd hear the difference with my hearing.

Universal Home Remote - Use every time I drive it, but range is poor.

Auto-dimming mirrors - Nice, but I don't drive at night much.

Memory Package - Meh. I'm the only driver so it gets set once regardless. Easy exit is okay, but a PITA with M7 that requires activating the parking brake to activate, foot brake when disengaging.

Color Head-Up Display - Meh to just okay. Would use more if I tracked the car, which I don't.

SiriusXM Satellite Radio with one-year subscription - Meh. I use it but won't renew. Have Ks of MP3s of the same music I listen to on XM. I do like the news channels being available, though.

Enhanced Theft-Deterrent Package - I like the tilt sensor that should eliminate wheel theft. Mine is parked in a secured garage 99.9% of the time, but I like the idea when I'm away.

Luggage shade/cargo net - Shade is good and would buy a la carte if I had 1LT. Replaced stock net with a 3-pocket item on Ebay, which is much better.

Overall, I would probably go with 2LT again, but not 3LT.

Thanks for the clarification. The only reason I replied before was because it sounded like you were making a blanket statement.

Nope, definitely not, in fact I've been wrestling with this decision in recent days, even though I won't be ordering a C7 until early next year. I thought for sure I had decided to go with the 2LT package but up here it's actually $4500 more, so I started thinking really hard about what things I can live without and still be happy. Also, if I decide a year or two later to trade that car for a newer one, I am better off spending as little on options as possible since very few of them add value to a new car dealer at trade in time.

That really would be the main thing I would miss with the 1LT package. Other than that, I could live without the 2LT, especially for $5K.
