Good stuff. I have UConnect on our 2016 Grand Cherokee. I'll have to disagree on that point in your write up. I'm not a UConnect fan.

Thanks for the review. And yeah, it's fine posting it here. After all, you're comparing a C7 and your experience with it.

Congrats on the little one - and the hell kittah.

Thanks for sharing. I'm sure it's tough to take a step back, after driving Corvettes for so long. Nice to have options that are tolerable.

Having recently owned (since 2010) Audi, BMW, Ford, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Jaguar, Mercedes, and Infiniti, the UConnect infotainment system in my '15 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk is far superior to any of the rest.

Most mag reviews of infotainment systems have arrived at the same conclusion.

To each his own, but my wife and I consider the Stingray to be one of the most comfortable cars to drive / ride in we've ever had. Great seats, great seating position and, in the base model, excellent ride combined with great handling (especially with Z51 sway bars added).

As far as fun, I feel the same way. And not just when I mash the throttle, but when I go around corners, too. The most fun of any car I've owned.

Definitely agree on the infotainment.

I had your same UConnect unit with NAV in my 2014 RAM Sport and it was by far the best infotainment unit i have ever seen/used.

As Foosh said, all the reviewers agree as it is touted as one of the best in the business.

Cool side note, all Maserati's get the exact same UConnect unit as all of FCA's cars, including your kitty.

I've been a corvette guy for the past twenty years and drove a 2015 vette for three days at Ron Fellows performance driving school in Vegas..Car handles unbelievably and does have a nice power to weight ratio.....Hard to argue with 707 HP and over 600 ft.lbs of torque though..

Enjoy...
Thanks. I live in Mill basin. It's an auto chargers aren't available in manual. I did drive the challenger in a manual and didn't like the gear box at all.

Great review and quite timely for me... i may have to give up my C7 in the near future... just too many cars in the stable and and SRT8 Charger may be in the equation for me. A Hellcat is just too powerful and i need a 4 season car and an SRT8 with snows just might work. I find that the vette makes me a far more aggressive driver ( yah right and the SRT8 won't ? ) Too bad they don't do a 300SRT8 for the North American Market anymore!

I didn't know they stopped making the 300 srt. You could always get a great deal on a slightly used one.

Not sure i would trust buying a used one... i've seen Australian reviews of a new 300SRT8 with the 8 speed tranny, which would be an excellent choice.
And as far as the transmission goes, in think Chrysler wins on that when compare to the GM 8 speed auto.

Very true... I wasn't an a8 owner as all my vettes were manual so I didn't add that to my comparison but the auto in the hellcat is amazing... lightning quick shifts and a very proven system.

For a DD Charger is excellent. I've got an AWD V6 for my Lansing to Flint commute. It is comfortable in all conditions, U-Connect is the industry standard for infotainment systems, and you can keep a carpool happy. Last fall my wife and I took a 2500 mile road trip in it and averaged 30.0 mpg. It is what it is, but of course it's not a C7.

thanks for posting that info---it's a very interesting read. But I believe you're on borrowed time, my crystal ball sees a Cayenne or equal in your future(probably within a year)

OK---just saw this and didn't realize you had the Hellcat Charger version and not the Challenger. Roll back the above timeline to 18-24 months(you're in the dead perfect bullseye market target for small/midsize performance SUV)

Your crystal ball is very broken lol. I have no interest in any sort of SUV.

For all you with 2016 or older uconnect systems, be glad you don't have a 2017. My 2017 Challenger SRT 392 has been in the shop since Friday after getting fried from a software update. All 2017 units are now made by Panasonic do to the addition of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. They have had more failed units and software updates regularly screw up the whole system to a point they can be fixed.
