...that despite the fact you're no longer a Vette owner you took the time to maintain the connection. I really do see the two cars as apple and orange. It takes quite the car to make a Vette feel underpowered but the handling basically flips the comparison. Thanks

My connection to the corvette and this forum runs deep. There really isn't a better forum out there. The hellcat forum is good but the conversation as well as membership is lacking... I love my new car and wouldn't go back but I'm sure I'll still be spending a bunch of time on here.
Get write up and I am glad you are happy with your purchase! I too am a car guy, and am not loyal to any auto brand. I simply buy what appeals to me since I am the one paying for it. At the current time I enjoy my Z51 with plans to buy a Z06 or C8 in 2-3 years. I personally would never have considered a Corvette before the C7 came out. Most likely I would have purchased a 911 S. As with any forum, their are car enthusiasts and their are fan boys.....I think it's easy to tell who from who by the thread responses! Enjoy your car.....you have a great one!

Good write up the only thing is, why hasn't anyone compared a Z06 to a Hellcat, they are similar in price and in power so why not? I understand you did the best you could considering you had a Stingray, I'm just wondering why a professional outfit hasn't done it yet.

Good luck and enjoy your ride.
As you said from my standpoint I couldn't. As far as professional outlets I don't know why. I've seen and watched some crazy comparison videos on cars that differ way more than these two. Maybe time to send Jason and Jonny of motor trend an email asking for a head to head.
Zl1 vs Hellcat is a much better comparison however . Same motor as the Z06 and has a backseat.

Having recently owned (since 2010) Audi, BMW, Ford, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Jaguar, Mercedes, and Infiniti, the UConnect infotainment system in my '15 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk is far superior to any of the rest.
Most mag reviews of infotainment systems have arrived at the same conclusion.
Agreed, just picked up a 17 Durango R/T, the info screen is great!

I have a C7 Z51 and Challenger Scat Pack; both 2015s. My wife wants to upgrade to the Hellcat and I am looking at either an ECS for the C7 or a trade as well.
My friend just traded his supercharged 2009 Challenger RT for a Hellcat. Got a great deal on it and is happier then a clam.
Yes, they are opposite ends of the spectrum but I think cross shopped / owned much more then what most people think.

I drove the Hellcat before buying the C7. Now that you can find them with some good discounts (Dodge dealer had several 2016's that would not sell) I can see people cross-shopping. When the Demon comes out I suspect you will find a number of Hellcat users dumping their car to get one and the used market will drop for Hellcat.
Great write up and I agree people cross shop these more than you think. I had a 2011 SRT 392 Challenger with an E-force on it and loved it. I'm so disappointed with the build quality of my Z51 I'm again considering going back to a Challenger Hellcat. Im waiting on what the new Trackhawk Hellcat version of the Grand Cherokee is going for first. My 11 year old one ton dodge diesel has less squeaks and rattles than my 2016 Corvette.

There are trade offs between the two vehicles, that's for certain.
I personally don't care about straight line power if the handling is not commensurate with it.
Enjoy the cat! Sweet car. I have a Z06 with two kids and living in Brooklyn as well limits my driving time. I'm unfortunately not sold on dodges offerings and cadilliac made the CTS to big and the ATS has the v6 that I'm not crazy about. I'm going to hold on to the Z until the new caddies come out. I'm hoping for a V8 ATS size car. I have actually considered a GTR as well. I would be nice to give up the the daily driver and have one fun car. I made mention of a 2+2 offering vette on here once and almost got banned lol. The camaro doesn't do it for me either.
Nice write up! Not many can say they own the most powerful production sedan in the world. Enjoy your new ride and come back when you don't need the rear seats anymore
