Someone asks to borrow your Vette? I went to HS with this guy but I probably haven't seen him since then, maybe several years ago. I couldn't just flat out say no.
I would ignore such a request.
If they persist, I would tell them to go buy/rent one.
It's a pretty arrogant to ask to "borrow" somebody's very expensive Pride & Joy.
That's a request I wouldn't be surprised to receive from a brother or close friend, but not from someone who I just went to HS with and hadn't kept up with since.
Nice of you to say yes, But...........
Wait until the word gets out, you will have to make a reservation just to drive your own vette on weekends.
You haven't seen the person in several years, but he asks to use your car....?
Not to be mean, but my answer would be ..ll NO! Whether it was my corvette or another car.
My opinion of course, but like other's have said he could go rent one.

And for a wedding no less. Where he'll probably be drinking it up...I don't think so...
Well he's supposedly a pastor or some kind of religious background so I doubt he's a heavy drinker. But these days, you never know lol.

Not sure if this is applicable to your situation, but it's another benefit of owning a manual
Edit: If he wants to pull up posing in something nice, tell him to rent a limo.
It's an auto so unfortunately I don't have that problem. If they asked to take it around the block or a trip out on the town, and I was in the passenger seat, I'd be perfectly ok with it. I could coach them on how to get in and out of driveways without scraping or telling them to watch out for that pot hole. But if I can't see it, they can't drive it.
Just tell him you don't like to lend out your car.
I would not say I don't like to loan my Corvette, I would tell them straight out I don't let anyone else drive it. Friends know not to ask, and I never ask to drive anyone else's.
I would be concerned about insurance issues. Regardless of who may be at fault in an accident, your insurance company may balk and anyway I'd not want anything on my insurance record.
I would tell him like I tell everyone else. I’m an only child, I never learned how to share and I never intend to learn and keep your hands off my stuff. Corvette, Harley, etc.
