Shoulda bought a vert?
It's to noisy over 55mphr with top down..Well,Push Button.Close the top. While moving(below 35mphr).It is usually noisy with any car...When the windows are down.Simply close windows turn on AC.
It's to hot in my Coupe with the roof off..Well,Pull over.Find a non traffic area,Open Both Doors,Reapply Roof.Make Sure attached properly.Turn on AC
It's to noisy in my Coupe with roof off after 55mphr.Well,Pullover.Find a safe area on the side of the highway.Open 1 Door in the travel lane.Pickup ripped off damage door.Put in hatchback.Call ONSTAR From your Cell.
The feeling of top down rear car open can't be duplicated in a hatchback.
The vert is a wide open sports car and a Quieter luxury sports car with simply a PUSH OF A BUTTON.

It's not like old school plastic convertible tops.

BTW, ALL this whoha about you can't take a Vert on a road trip is bunk. We've taken several 3+ week road trips in ours. You just have to use your brain a little, and you can take enough along to suit you. Plus, you can put the top down with the truck full. When I see a photo of a coupes rear full, I wonder where they will put the top if they want to go topless.
There's nothing like that perfect day with the top down, your bestie by your side, driving down a quiet back road. It's the best blood pressure medicine known to man, and woman (that's for my ginger girl Lisa)

I have never owned a convertible, but if I get another Corvette, I'm thinking it should have a soft top. Anyone else feel the same?

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
It's not like old school plastic convertible tops.
Corvette soft tops have advanced light years. No more wind whistling in, no water leaking, no yellowing plastic rear windows, no hot or frigid temps from lack of insulation. Yep, they have really figured out how to make a great Vette convertible top.
You can track convertibles. You've got to find the right track, or outfit your car for the track. So, that's not a problem either. If the only reason you're buying a C7 is to track it, you won't be buying a convertible anyway.
Convertible trunks are huge, whether the top is up or down. I was extremely impressed on their space! Hatchbacks always either expose your cargo, or suggest they're hauling it. You can't hide valuables in the exposed, glass hatchbacks.
Convertibles are costlier because they're more valuable. When you're spending $50K to $80K for a new C7 are you really that strapped to pay a few grand more for a convertible? If so, they may be out of your league.
Is it any more comfortable sitting in the hot sun in a partially removable targa top hatchback, than a full open air convertible? Really? You probably haven't thought that one through.
Do you also never use your air-conditioning because you believe hatchbacks are less hot in the Sun!?OK, so go find a place to pull over and spend 5 minutes digging under your loaded hatchback's cargo, to fish out the flimsy, miserable to store top. You guys must've loved T-tops, and loved fooling with them then.

Come on guys, let's get real here. No, the C7 (or the C6 for that matter) doesn't leak without a mechanical failure, the back window doesn't yellow (as Kevin alluded to) and is not the same rag-top from 30 years ago. No more maintenance than any other model other than a quick brushing of the top with a mild soap when washing. If it bugs you, add a 303 treatment once every few years but in truth not really needed. Perhaps a new top once in a decade if it's daily driven but that would be a stretch.
There are obvious differences between the coupe and convertible but some misconceptions out there from convertibles decades ago are simply not true...

Plus, I could try really hard and still not give a flying rats sphincter what others think...
