I drove my vert to dinner tonight with the top down. Beautiful night in Atlanta, 73 degrees and clear sky. Oh...and it’s February 22nd. Still a month until it is officially spring. Stuff is blooming all over down here.
Just bought my first Vette and I went with a coupe. Since I was looking in the secondhand market, I tried to find the best deal and wasn't going to let the car being a coupe or convertible be the deciding factor.
You typically find pre-owned coups for less than comparable convertibles as verts hold their value better. However lower price doesn't always equal best deal.
That is very true. I wasn't sold on C7s initially so decided to buy a CPO M7 '14 convertible. They are very hard to find and sell at much higher prices than coupes.
Obviously, I became sold by my experience with that car, since I ordered a new one, but only because I had to have Sebring Orange.
That can also occur if you absquatulate in your C7 in a particularly gnarly way.
People like me that are lucky to pass HS have to take words apart or read context.Abs and squat mix, then throw in a little gnarly for good measure.
Figuring a visit to the underwears drawer or Dr.Poopiepants might be the coarce to take?
To be sure i looked it up.Foose not sure if you used the right word? I was thinking Messy pants, johnny Skidmark style? What were you thinking?

I'd be surprised if Foosh's 100% garaged, CPO 2014 3LT/Vert/Z51/M7/NPP/MSRC/DSC-Equipped/TripleBlk/XpelUltimateCoated C7 w/15K miles that Mike Furman took in-trade, lasts very long on his lot.
That was a sweetly equipped C7 Vert........

I waffle because I love the waterfall between the seats on a vert - but I love the look of the rear of the coupe - and I like the extra security of the coupe. With the top off I think we get the best of both worlds - and more luggage space........but I love both.
I agree with everything you say. Also, having a Vert is VERY dependent on where you live. Too hot, too cold, so much sun it burns your head..... Not a lot of great days to take down the top in my area. I still LOVE the roof lines of the coupe so I'll stick with that!

I saw it listed @ Criswell a couple of days after the trade, and when I checked again a week later it was gone.
Back in the day when I was young, single and not a care in the world, I had a Corvette vert and a Buick Skylark convertible as a beater. I rode both of them with the top down from time to time and got that out of my system. I found out, I wasn't much of a "vert" guy. The Corvette had two tops and sometimes I'd go the whole summer with the hardtop in place. Since then, I've only had coupe Corvettes. I don't expect that will ever change. I like the coupes over the verts.
It's a personal preference and I fully understand those that prefer verts over coupes. That's why GM makes both.
Timing is everything. When I bought my 'vert in the spring of 2014, dealerships across the U.S. had actually ordered too many verts, causing a glut of the 'verts verses the coupes and some of the earliest discounts of 2014 Corvettes were actually on convertibles. I ended up saving almost $8,000.00 on my 2014 'vert, when virtually nobody was discounting the new C7.

Nope, true story. I paid supplier pricing which was about $6,000.00 off, on a car that was built days before the $2,000.00 price increase took effect. End result = $8,000.00 off. Like I said, timing is everything...
I had Corvette coups for 10 years, had no desire for a vert because I held to the old noisy, leaky flapping myths. When I was planning to buy a C7 my wife campaigned hard for a convertible. She won so I went for it. I REALLY LOVE IT AND WOULDN'T GET ANOTHER COUPE. Shssss, don't tell my wife please. I find it quieter than my coups with the top up and way less wind buffeting than a coupe with the top off. Plus push a button and there you go.

Don't get me wrong - I love my C7 coupe, but on sunny days like today (71 degrees and perfect in mid-February in CA) taking the top off the car makes it a different creature all together. I love it so much more. Which leads me to wonder if I should have bought a convertible.
I have never owned a convertible, but if I get another Corvette, I'm thinking it should have a soft top. Anyone else feel the same?
Indeed. A vert is not for everyone. If you rode motorcycles, you'll probably love verts. Personally, I didn't care for having to get out and store the top of the coupe. Once that's done, it occupies most of the trunk space. With the vert, a push of a button and within seconds, the top is either down or up. I think trunk space is greater with the top down in the vert, than the coupes' with the top stowed. I get great visibility all around too.
