Unfortunately I have a 1lt,I had planned on upgrading it & have been ever since I got it 3 weeks ago,but the inability of being able to add hud & lack of simple things like heated/cooled seats(should be in every vette @ what they charge for these things)has me regretting it big time.
This is my 1st vette & feeling underwhelmed with it(To plain & under powered),could have gotten a much nicer car for the $(zl1),but I guess it is what it is.

The car in my photo is a 1LT stingray convertible which I had for 3 years. I never had problems with it, nor did I have the 'options' you wish you had. The options you want are nice, but not required to drive the vehicle. I have a Z06 now, and have those features, but the only thing I really care about slightly is the HUD.

WOW i just bought a base 1lt stingray and this is my first vette as well....I plan to do a couple basic upgrades however my take is a complete 180 from yours. Sounds like you should have spent more time researching & test driving before you bought your first vette.
My last couple cars were a 2013 BMW m3 e92 and before that was a 2010 AMG c63 and IMO this 2018 stingray is a american version of those two cars put together. And better looking at that.

Wow, 'too plain and under powered' Don't believe I've heard that here before.
I'm curious, what much nicer car could you have gotten for the $?
I know several who have HUDs all thought they were pretty cool the first couple weeks, but have since stopped using them.

Transaction prices on 1LTs currently are lower than many pickup trucks, and trust me, no one is likely to look at your Silverado and go, "Cool vehicle!"
isn't that
I went to look for a new pickup a couple months ago, the one I liked (Dodge Ram) was going to cost me almost $2000 than I paid for my GS Vert. I will continue to drive my Tacoma with 407,000 miles on it; it's probably more reliable.

I'm not into *** crap, but anything's more reliable than these Italian dodges.
Quality is not job one at today's dodge ram manufacturing facility.

traded in a premium track pack 16 Roush rs3 for this thing,I will do everything I can do to make the driving experience more bearable & hopefully even exceed it,but it's going to take alot more than I had hoped it would to get it there.

Two totally different cars, I doubt the C7 will ever make you happy.
Sounds like you purchased it on impulse.
Personally Mustangs (especially the ultra expensive ones) do nothing for me but to each their own.

You traded in a 650 hp massively upgraded $65,000 mustang for a base stingray? sounds like you should have been after a z06
I can't even begin to understand this trade...serious question did you not test drive the corvette?

Not exaxtly,I wanted a gt500,but it wasn't produced in 16 so I opted for the next best thing a fully loaded supercharged roush under the impression that it was warranted at any ford dealer & I had to go a good distance away to purchase it at a roush dealer, well it is not covered by any ford dealer & I simply didn't want to take it that far away every time it needed anything.
I have always liked vettes as I like American sports cars & had owned 2 in the past 1 Targa & 1 vert & figured that a new corvette would surely outshine the lowly mustang, but NOPE I was wrong.
I will however fix that & it is already taking shape & looks alot better than it did when I got it 3 weeks ago.
I love the manual trans in the vette as it's superior.I love the handling as it's superior, but that is about it.
The mustang is far superior in every other way & if you don't know that, well you simply haven't had a new mustang.

there's a pretty sizeable difference in price btw the rs3 & zo6 or i absolutely would have went that route.
I have a new truck as well,if not for that I I could of easily afforded the zo6,but I need a truck & I don't want a jalopy either.
I had figured I could simply supercharge the vette & call it good, but this things so fragile,I will have to build it up to handle any kind of power.
With the coyote, you don't have to worry about pistons or improving the heads, beefing up the differential etc if all you want is 700-800hp.

You purchased an approx $65,000 Mustang only assuming it had a factory warranty? Seems you are just falling over yourself with bad decisions.
Good luck to you moding up your C7.

Embedded in the May '18 Road&Track ZR1 article is this:
"The plain-Jane C7 Corvette is probably the finest American sports car in history." (p.27)
Well it's the finest one I've ever driven. I am a happy C7 Camper. Mine is plain-Jane + Z51 + a Z06 grill + a carbon fiber dash. The car couldn't possibly rock harder.
Here's the problem with modern sports cars: this type of car has always been a dick measuring contest, now more than ever. But as cars have gotten more and more powerful in one critical sense they can become less fun to drive. Part of enjoying a sports car is flogging it for performance as you bang through the gears. I can barely open up my C7 on my local roads, and I live in a relatively sports car friendly place. Another 200 horsepower? Maybe if I lived in Arizona. Here, I can't see it. You'd almost never get the revs over 4K. It's hard to do it in my stock Z-51 Stingray.
I think that my car hits the sweet spot, but often enough even my plain-Jane Stingray is over-powered for the roads I drive it on.
Hey, that new BMW M2 has much less horsepower and can't keep up with a Stingray on a race track, but the auto writers love the car. I'm sure that car is a lot of fun to drive. So is a Miata. Horsepower is one factor, and more is not necessarily always better, at least for the way I like to drive a car.

well you purchased a vette too.
I also purchased a c7 thinking it was the pinnacle of American sports cars, seems I never get it right 😔
