My car does not have the extended coverage applied, it was built in January 2017 and the extended coverage only applies to car built to December 2016.
I have reached out to GM corporate proactively in an attempt to get it covered and they told me the coverage will not apply to my vehicle to cover repair costs but it "may or may not be possible" for GM to cover part or all the repairs as an act of good faith.

Log into mychevrolet.com and register your VIN. You should see you have the extra coverage.
My car is now fixed. GM covered the repair even though the special coverage was not present. I'm a happy camper.
Also, they did not drop the drivetrain to remove the tank, which was nice to hear. Less disassembly is a good thing.
